Need a ship configuration capability

Hi,

I have found that I would like a function to swap configurations quickly in and out of a ship. Say a trader config vs a exploration config - it would be nice to have a button to swap the config and allow the ship to be reconfigured from local components stored at the station, configured from local components plus allow you to buy any missing modules (or allow to select which modules to leave out if not available). Possibly it would be nice to add a ship from other station option as well for those of us planning for the next day's activities and reconfiguring using remote modules that need to be shipped just before logoff for an extended period of time.

I would like to think that each ship could support say up to 6, 8, or 12 different configurations

I hope my idea is explained clearly enough to get the point across.

A good idea, I think.
Once you have enough money. You can buy more ships and configure them differently and park them. As a workaround.
 
Won't work... No workers to be seen at stations... [big grin] so you have to get our yourself and do all the changes

In all seriousness brilliant idea.... Even add a small fee and time for the ground crew to do the changes
 
Let's keep additional time sinks to the minimum, please. I don't find periods where my "gameplay" is to twiddle my thumbs enjoyable.
