Need a simpler way to bind.

Now that the bindings are officially a game in their own right, I'd like to see a simpler way of setting up controls... in and out, check, back in, check, back out, correct, back in etc.

When you are using VR, a hotas, steering wheel and a gamepad, it gets a bit ridiculous! I ended up redoing my entire bind using a gamepad template, just so I had some preset controls for the new camera suite!

There has to be an easier, more intuitive way to customise more simply and more quickly.

I couldn't agree more.
I also think the options menu needs some love too. One long huge list for Controls just seems a bit lazy to me, considering how many controls we have.

They could have a set of presets for each section so at lest a new feature can be setup pretty quickly.

I use custom binds and i had all camera suit binds mapped and ready to go when i started the game. I am pretty sure it has same controls for it that the previous (before 2.3) free camera had and then the new new functions also mapped. I am pretty sure these didn't copy over from beta as i think i mapped them differently in the beta and i didn't manually copy keybinds from beta to live.

At least a stickied thread for text editing the XML file.
saveable and loadable configs would be helpful.

Odd but then I've seen lots of posts saying bindings go missing. Basic switch camera IS working how I set it up in beta but can't move around with camera freely, I'll check the settings.

Yeah, t's a pretty daunting prospect just looking in controls now. Keep a backup of your .binds file and rename it (both the file and in the file PresetName section, saves a lot of time if you change PC).

That's all well and good but the feature creep means that the bind files don't correspond and it was easier to start again this time around.

True but all my settings, apart from some set in beta (and I may not be 100% sure about that) have carried over to 2.3. So just re-copy the customXX.bind file when a new upgrade that affects bindings hits, it should have your stuff in it. Although, as I said, I've seen a lot of people mention losing settings over the years.
