It depends solely on the ship you're flying, and it's internal compartments. Different ships can mount different scoop sizes...
If you're in an Asp, that'll buy you up to a B6. That's what I use now (mostly because I don't want to spend 24 million on an A6).

I will only mention this because you have been out on a long trip before so may have some experience with navigating multiple un-scoopable systems.

As others have said, use the biggest slot to buy the largest scoop you can afford. However, what hasn't been discussed here, is that you can also use a smaller fuel tank to speed up scooping. For example, if you use the stock 32t fuel tank on an Asp with a 6A scoop costing 28mil (link here) you can fill up the tank in approximately 32 seconds. If you drop that down to a 16t tank, you can fill up the tank in 31 seconds with a 6D scoop costing 449k (link here). You'll also get better jump range.

Danger, of course, is that you will have fewer max range jumps with a smaller tank; thus my comment about only doing this if you're experienced. You can play with small additional tanks if you have slots for them but you get the point.

Size 5 isn't "just" bold text. But thanks for explaining why you use such a big font.
BTW, don't the phones have a zoom function (even my ancient Nokia has) to use if the text appears too small?
So yes, the crazy big font size is annoying and rude towards every other forum user. No one else uses it, learn to use the zoom in your fancy phone.
Hmmm,, with the around 100 posts that ive put on the forums up to now,, and you being the only one to take the time, and effort to stress on this huge, life changing event,, and seeing the not small amount of posts in similar type,, im thinking this is a you problem,, and not an anyone elses problem,, do you spend your day posting them all lol,, "Mr Annoyed from" lol ,, but hey,, whatever gets you through the day

OP, knowing what ship you are flying would help us to help you! IF you already have the top of the line scoop available for your ship, you will need to buy a larger ship then.

This is not entirely true. Some of us might have been quietly hoping some sort of self correction and self awareness to eventually kick in. Hoping you realize that the biggest font is not needed, as no one else's uses it?

HAHA sorry for the caps but laughing loudly. Okay I'm flying a ASP! I have the best for the rest of the slots but the fuel scoop (A1) Sucked lol. I was just wondering what to actually shoot for cause running around everywhere trying find one was driving me nuts. I want out of Civ space. I feel dirty here and need to get back out! I have 7.2 million right now but when I get back I will be able to buy the best one but I need the best that I can afford right now. Thanks for the replies and stupid on me for not letting everyone know what I was in.
