Ships Need advice. I keep dying...

Every 3rd run or so I ended up getting interdicted and just getting totally wrecked and end up losing my ship. Does anyone have any advice on how to survive once you're interdicted? This never happens when I do runs with my Cobra. I just want to utilize the cargo space that the type 6 has to offer. So far I have lost 3 type 6's in a single night and around3.5m in cargo so any tips and advice on loads out would be welcome and greatly appreciated.

Submit to interdiction so FSD cooldown is shorter. Then 4 pips to engines, 2 to sys, turn away at full throttle, and keep boosting away with FA off until you can hit the FSD again.

Stop running shieldless. Take A grade shields.
Drop your two smallest cargo racks for SCBs.
Fill one utility slot with sinks. Fill the rest with chaff.
Take appropriate sized A grade thrusters.

Are you submit hopping? Dirty. Submit, pips to engines, jump to next system.

Are you simply resisting? Awesome. Pips to shields (you're not out running anything). Chaff screen. Keep hitting those SCBs. Drop a sink when needed (it will be needed). Jump to SC when possible. Take a wide turn, and make large spirals to your destination (helps avoid interdiction).

watch what types of cargo you take, I never took high value cargos in my 6, if you want to load a ship up with gold, or worse, wait till you can get the asp, when you can first afford the type 6 it is best for taking bulk quantities of stuff like food or minerals. it has almost 3 times the capacity of the cobra you probalby had before it, ( that was my ship progression anyways.) keep your cobra for the high value missions.

I don't see where he said he was running shieldless....why does everyone assume every transporter is running shieldless? Shield or no shield, interdictions and a hostile enemy pilot NPC will burn you down in seconds in a T6. There is no escape, and no defense against them.

Yes to submit BUT....

1. If the NPC starts shooting, just turn the game off asap or you're gonna die. (Hit Window Key, Right Click on Game in Task Bar and Close Window)
2. If it's a pirate NPC and they start scanning, then just full power the hell out and FSD asap. You'll be gone before they get enough shots at you.
3. If security check, wait for clear. And then move on...unless you had illegal cargo.

1) You may be new to the game so I'll tell you you absolutely never do that. It's called combat logging and Frontier consider it an exploit; you could have sanctions put on your account. Players are advised to report anyone doing it.

2 & 3 are good though :D

I had enough of the T6 and decided to buy an ASP.

Excellent decision. :)

I find flying any of the three Tx frighters without some wing escort pretty risky, especially with the 1.4 interdictions (not complaining, I actually like it how it is now). The ship insurance is not much, but the loss of cargo can become very expensive. High risk, high gain, though.

Be warned: The type 7 is even harder to run away in. You really have to fit that thing for tanking to survive interdictions these days.

Type-6 you can run away if you submit and boost like a mad man as fast as possible. Type-7, expect pain.

1: Drop cargo, they will likely ask for more, keep dropping until they stop firing?

Get the best shield you can fit, add a point defense and shield boosters (i had npc's firing missiles at me) fit the best power distributor and thrusters. Always always ALWAYS SUBMIT, boost and corkscrew away (left thumbstick at 11 o'clock, right stick at 2'oclock) no pips to weapons, all to engines and system. Dump unnecessary modules (discovery scanner, unless you use it) and prioritize your modules from 1-4. You'll be fine

Hmm, the Type-6 isn't as slow as I thought. With a good configuration you should be able to escape after submitting with the boost-boost-use SC-boost-enter supercruise-tecnique - in most cases. Main problem is, that you can't upgrade this ship to carry a sufficient shield generator because of it's tiny power plant bay.

That's how I would fit the T-6:

But, if you take a look at the price tag: you are only 1.2 million credits away from the 2nd option I would recommend

The Asp in this configuration will provide you:

- more armor, even with lightweight bulkheads
- about 50% more shield strength
- upgrade capability (contrary to the t-6)
- and last but not least: the Asp sounds like rockn'roll, not lawnmower :)

I was gladly submitting with my T-6 earlier, as standard NPC pirates up to Diamondback Explorer could be beaten (slowly but surely) by constant turrets fire. They simply can't fire well when under fire. And bigger ones were easy to escape.

But, interceptors now fly in wings, no matter it's "just" Eagles/Vipers most of the time. I lose my shield pretty fast to one of them while suppressing the other - and my engines are gone in next few seconds. And no running from Vipers in any transport. But look, missions changed too. I don't trade any more. It simply can't bring more than missions, speaking about both fun and credits.

Remote systems now offer trade missions with more than 500k reward, like smuggle 2-3 tons of some illicit cargo few systems away. Few days ago I earned over a million on just one mission for smuggling mere 9 tons of Slaves. It'd take me 10 times more efforts if I hauled Gold with my T-6 instead. Now armored Cobra with just 12 cargo space (costs 4 mill to equip it) is best trader I use. I make 3-5 mill per afternoon of playing to relax.

Just be careful who you smuggle for, in order to keep your reputation with allies.
