Ships Need advice on possible combat loadouts

Herro everyone. I currently fly a Asp that I enjoy very much, however, I need some advice in regards to possibly outfitting it a bit better for combat. I know it is a multipurpose vessel, but excels when it comes to exploration. Out of the loadout listed below what do you all think would fit better with it? Any comments/Criticism is welcome!

Maybe up the shields a bit, can you afford a 5C at least ? I know you got 2 shield boosters but every bit helps.
Also unless you are really worried about that extra cargo space I'd put a 3A fuel scoop and 3A shield cell bank in there.
Kill Warrant Scanner too.

As for weapons what you have is pretty standard and good for PVE.

That build looks awesome! Whats the difference between class 1 and class 2 multicannons? Also, what about if i mount a 5a shield gen with a booster?
 
5A plus shield boosters is just...well, more shield strength.
I went for multicannons on the class 2's to take down subsystems faster on bigger ships. There is a damage penalty against bigger hulls that affects the class 1's more than the class 2's.
I don't think there is a damage penalty against shields whatever size ship they are on so small beam lasers are not penalised.

There are some threads somewhere with debates about it and some guys doing the math on it. But what you chose for your setup is fine anyway there probably
isn't much difference in the end.

If you prefer lasers then using 2 pulse lasers in the medium and 2 burst lasers in two of the small slots lasts a long time with 4 pips to weapons. Then put something kinetic in the other 2 small slots.
 
Thanks for all the great advice. I think i'll go with the 4 beam/multicannon set up and see what kind of damage I can cause. Just one last question....what is your opinion on having a vulture for fighting and a type 6 for trading?
 
Is a good combo, I did that for a while. Type6 can be fitted to be a great little explorer if you get tired of trading.
The Vulture is great but it can get a bit dull though.
