Need clearer way to display Engineer Mod effects before applying

So I was trying to rerolled my already really good Dirty Drive. Finally got one with moderately higher Optimal Mutltiplier but moderately lower Optimal Mass. Everything I've read so far says go with the Optimal Multiplier. Well turns out now my Max Speed and Boost is slower...Seriously, can't we have a clearer display of effect on actual important values like Speed and Boost?

I support the OP in this endeavor. It would be awesome to show at the bottom what the related stats of our ship are before and after the engineer mod. A display just like the one in the outfitting screen would be welcome where you get to see the difference in the total values between modules.

Seconded, thirded, hugged, married and having children with the ops suggestion.

I may have put it in the quality of life suggestions thread

In addition, when you choose special effects (if any) for a weapon, the modifiers should be listed and included in the summary. As it is now, they aren't mentioned or factored in until after you've accepted the upgrade.

+1 for OP's suggestion. You can get a good idea of what the likely changes are now for most mods but there's simply no reason for it not be included. I'd have to assume the only reason it wasn't part of the original implementation was time considerations.

Talk about a really shoddy patch, well done fdev!

Couldn't agree more. I haven't got a degree in Elite ship mechanics and so all the multiplier this and that doesn't quite add up and I never really can make a 100% judgement on a roll. This would be a huge quality of life improvement.

Glad to hear the above. I only tried creating mods recently and decided I was just being fik as I couldn't be sure if my roll was better or worse half the time.:)

Definately agree'd. Definitive simple results especially when you are drinking lots of Guinness. The eyes are seeing but the brain is still five jumps back.

Yes, definitely.

The results of Engineers mods should be presented in some clear way like Speed, Boost, maximum FSD range with current load etc.
