Need detailed guides for both deep exploration and PvP Pirating

Hello all,

I have a few friends who are thinking about purchasing ED and a DK2 (they loved mine in person). I may roll a few different ships/layouts in our group.

One of my friends likes the peaceful adventurer pve type and he and I will explore together in virtual reality. Gonna be cool! Another wants to role play Pirating players for cargo and doesn't know how to set up his goals for his ship, what systems to pirate in etc etc (it's in the game - lets leave all debates about this play style for other threads that are meant for that debate.)

Where can I find some guides for these two play styles specifically? I've looked all over here and can't find anything on those... Most are on bounty hunting, basic exploring, and trading. Please link anything or describe details here in this thread.

I'd highly recommend trying the oculus DK2 if I were you guys! So immersive :)

You don't really need a guide to PvP pirate someone. You just comms them and say "Give me stuff or I shoot you" and then they either give you stuff or you shoot them. Killing them is generally not what piracy is about.

Also some exploration tips in my FAQ in my sig.

On the side note, a question.. Are payouts for supermassive metal-rich planets (like 20+ earth masses) worth a lot more than typical metal-rich planets? How about ringed-metal-rich?

I would test, but I'm now 4000 LY from sol.

There was a patch note recently that said they corrected the supermassive payouts for supermassive stellar objects.
