Hi all,
I'm in the market for a new headset, my old Logitech G430's right cup started losing contact intermittently - and I wasn't amazed by their quality, anyway, so I figured it's time to get a new set. I don't mind spending a bit as long as I get quality, and I absolutely want surround sound - hardware drivers if possible. I once had a pair of Razer Barracudas, and it was the finest headset I ever had in terms of surround quality and crisp sounds. Unfortunately they fell apart a long time ago, at which time I got the Logitechs, which aren't as good in terms of sound and surround quality.
So now, I'm looking to get a proper surround set again. I have an onboard sound card, and not a separate one, and I'd prefer not buying one either. For this reason, I've been looking at Roccat Kave XTD 5.1 premium digital. There's an analog variant, but the digital one comes with it's own USB sound card, and apparently has really good surround sound.
Another option would be to get a much cheaper analog variant, and get a 60$ USB external sound blaster 5.1 card. Would this have better surround? I have no idea, tbh.
I was wondering if anyone here who used those could give me their opinion, and of course any recommendations would be great!
