Need help/advice please with following ASP Exploration fit

hey all,
I know there are many fits, but I am confused as to which to use. My prime role would of course be exploration. So let's say I want a all-out exploration built WITHOUT the expensive fuel scoop, what alternatives would I have? My overall budget would be around 15 mio. Can a good ASP exploration ship be made with that cash and if yes, can you please help me make one? Most ASPs I saw go way over 20 mio.

Thanks in adv.

3D shield, 6C (or above) fuel scoop, 5A fsd, Adv + Det scanners are musts then the rest is personal preference. I also use my Asp for rares trading so equip 5A thrusters, 3A PP, 4A PD, 4D LS, 5D sensors then swap out a decent AFM for a cargo rack depending if I'm exploring or rares trading. Either way I get 32.25Ly jumps.

As above, 6D fuel scoop is perfectly adequate unless you're in a massive hurry to get somewhere.

Agreed. The difference between 6C and 6D in an Asp is 12 seconds in filling tank (51 secs vs. 1m3s) and, when you're starting out, a whopping 1.3m credits.

Hi SirScarecrow:

Here you have another ASP configuration, corresponding to my ship -Nostromo-, right now in long exploration trip that will, eventually, reach Sagittarius A* (still 8000 LY away, and still a lot to scan). The ship fitting shows my personal preferences, like fast fuel scooping, a bit of those shield protection (for run in front of those Dangerous Star Lurkers who like to destroy unarmed explorer ships), minimum weight, requires energy balance (not need to have all active all time), ...and plenty of space for rum and coffee (right now I'm in a loooong exploring trip):

As you will discover, there are many different fitting schemes. My advice is think about your own trade-offs and adapt the ship to your own preferences, ..try to maximize your jump distance, and think that in a long trip decisions must be taken in advance, becaquse when you find yourself at thousands of LY of your home, there is no place and no time for improvisation ;-) (until Frontier let us play a bit with the internal mechanics of your ships, letting us to manually repair ssytems, savage pieces and reconfigure ships...maybe some time in the no so distant future).

Hello all! Hey Txakal... your config is missing something in there, no fuel scoop and while not necessary you mentioned the shields and there is none

This is the Asp rig I am currently using. It is a 16 mil credit setup and it is made for long range exploration (x2 AFMUs). I always travel with a light shield which I disable outside of the bubble. I also get the best fuel scoop I can afford and naturally buy the best FSD I can get.

You can get this setup down to 14 mil credits if you drop the fuel scoop to a 5C.

Its not a perfect setup but I like it, I also like docking computer because:

1. Asp gives you that luxury of multiple modules
2. Its great letting the computer dock you after being away from a Coriolis station for 3 months. The feeling cannot be quantified.

Good luck, glad to see you using the best ship in the game to explore in:)
