Need help finding a system

Hello everyone, I need some help finding a system. I got an invation from the Federation to go to a system called "Hydri >insert second word here<"

I'm wondering if anyone has come across this mission before or know a list of systems in Fed space that starts with Hydri so I can at least narrow down the search. Thanks in advance.

Look on your right side MFD. If you scroll through the pages there, you'll find a list of system permits that you have. (look at the first page, that lists your rep. At the top of that page are some arrows, scroll through that, not the tabs at the top of the display.) Take the name from there and enter it into the galaxy map, the map will scroll to that location for you.

The search feature only works if I know the exact name of the system. I only knew the first part to the name.

it still works, it will just search all systems including that string.

It's probably 'beta hydri'. At least, that was the system at the end of one of the Federation rank-up missions. From what I've heard, there's nothing to meet and nothing to be gained by going, (other than exploring and getting to see a space base that's a bit different from the others).

Yes that's the name of it. Are there at least different missions there to get me to progress further in my rank?

Competent: I got summons and permit and (insert your problems here)
AFAIK You don't have to go to the system at all to progress your ranks or get further permits, at least until Lieutenant. I got all my Federation ranks and permits by never going to systems that I got "invited to". I may have to go there to get my last few ranks. I'm an Earl (top ranking so far) with Empire and I never got offered Achenar permit.

There's quite a few of us scratching our heads wondering if there's something borked with the system permits. No one I know of has, after visiting any of them upon getting the permit, been awarded any missions that would coincide with the mysterious 'representative' alluded to in the mission text. On the one hand, it seems like you should be meeting up with someone, since it literally says you'll be 'contacted', on the other hand, it may simply be a breadcrumb mission to get you to a new hub world in a different area than you're already in, to encourage exploration. I know I found some rare commods along the way once, as I was visiting the new systems, so that may be a part of it as well.

I was thinking once I got there then I would take one a different set of missions that would then progress me further within the ranks, but it seems not. I haven't actually tried this before though. This is my first time ever doing this. I've been Allied with the Federation for awhile now and decided to do a Naval mission for the heck of it. Next thing I know I'm doing more of them.

What exactly do I get in return of getting to the top?

Just got another one. This time at PLX 695. Seems to me they're just system permits.
I guessing the more of these Naval missions I do the more Federation permits I get.

So taking these naval missions are not bad things? Am seeing them a lot everywhere i go but resisted so far as i dont want my comfy lifestyle disrupted...
