Need help - game just stuck in a download loop.

Hi, I need help.

I recently had to uninstall the game to make space for something else and now when I try to re-install it, it simply finishes and then when I come to play it it tells me its not downloaded and starts to re-download itself over and over again.
Restarting steam, restarting machine, changing download servers on steam do not work. I end up right back at the start again, re-downloading the game.
Any advice on this?

Through steam, it's the initial installation. I can't even get to the launcher yet.

I let it download through yesterday, it told me it finished at around 11pm last night (I had to head to bed for work) quickly opened steam again this morning to check and it's re-downloading itself yet again.

not that I use steam for ed (I have direct access privileges )
but I would suggest going to the steam library page right click ed icon properties
and trying the various options in there to try to resolve your steam issue
(else I would attempt relinking your steam account to frontier)

This does sound like a steam problem.

Personally I'd try verifying the files & if that doesn't fix it, going into the library & deleting the files for a clean reinstall.

You had to uninstall to make room for something else. That tells me you are probably very low on available storage space. If you don't have at least 15% of that drive free, you need to fix that first. Steam is going to need much more space during install than what the final install requires. It will happily attempt to install based only on the final install size though. If space is limited enough, it will download the installer, then run out of space for installing.
