Ships Need help on my 1st Krait MK2 build

Hello everyone, I intend to buy a Krait mk2 to start farming reputations, engineers and guardian stuff.
I would like to know if this build I made is viable to do missions and stuff or if I messed up :p with my low knowledge of the game:

Burst lasers will be on a separate fire group than multi cannons and plasma accelerator. I really would like to try to have the fighter who i can always swap later and the land vehicle hangar for land missions.

Thank you in advance for any advice 👍

I recommend you engineer your FSD as a priority. Getting out to Guardian sites will be far easier. Go see Felicity to G5 your FSD and G3 dirty your drives.

With all those shield cell banks you'll probably need a heat sink. I'd probably swap at least one for a cargo rack which you will inevitably need.

Ditch the docking computer and install something useful like a collector controller.

I find too many gun types awkward in combat, so tend to go with one type per fire group.

A top mounted point defence is highly recommended for Guardian sites, but only need to mount before you head out.

Fly dirty!

If you haven't already noticed the Kraits have very efficient thruster boost to to extent you can run with one pip to thrusters and still have multiple boosts, weapon loadouts are really down to personal taste but 3 x efficient large beams and 2 x rail guns work really well or 1 x large beam + 2 x medium beams and 2 x large fixed MC (my current favourite).

As mentioned in the earlier post get the Guardian FSD booster and shield enhancement package they're well worth having on top of engineered modules.

There are so many weapon combinations available with the Mk2 due to the large distributor and power plant. I've found that most of the loadouts I prefer suit a combination of a 6A power plant and 7A distributor. Saves on PP mass.

If you like fixed guns, apparently 5x Plasma Accelerators (efficient+phasing) or 4x Rails (short+plasma) + Beam (OC+vent) work well.

Medium beams and large seekers is fun too.

Here's some builds I use

edit Coriolis don't wanna play sry :(

Be aware that using Guardian Shield Booster will keep shields up longer BUT if they go down your screwed, as I've never had them come back up. I quit using them on my builds.
Engineering priority I use; FSD, Drives, Power and Power Distro. Guardian FSD Booster is a great addition as well.
Weapons adjust to your play style.

I find Guardian shield enhancement packages work best with bi-weave fact charge and resistance shield boosters (if used sparingly), with conventional reinforced + heavy duty booster builds they are much less effective and only add to an already extended regen duration.

The bi-weave themal resistant + fast charge and resistance type boosters I use are at one extreme of the shield build options and the reinforced + heavy duty booster + SCB's build is at the other, what's best for "you" is something you need to test out as both have quite different combat tactics, ye pays yer money............... :)

This is my mission version, though I'll change the internals around if I need to. This is PvE. It's a hull tank. I prefer the beams, but that is obviously to taste. Combined with the corrosive once the shields are down, it does short work of most ships, especially combined with a skilled pilot.

3 x large efficient large beams and 2 x medium rails is my Krait weapon loadout too. Mine has always been set up as a bit of an all-rounder, it has an SRV bay and reasonable cargo and collector limpet for mats. It can hold it's own against NPCs but Conflict Sites and the engineered ships there tend to do too much damage so I can't stick around there too much. I have a heavily engineered Chieftain for NPC pew-pew.

I do find the Krait needs the 7A PP from a heat point of view

The trick for HICZs is to shoot what is all ready being shot at and shields down. You draw much less agro from the NPCs that way. I'll also switch my internals and drop my travel clothes and go nearly full warrior . I do stop to grab engineering mats.

Thanks everyone, so much to try now (y)
A couple of sentences of caution on my build. You will notice that I don't have heatsinks. I wait until I'm beaming something, and being cooled, to hit my shield cell banks. The reasons this is specifically a PvE build is because the engineering I use slows spin up time, which lowers heating, but would make you much more vulnerable to humans. My apologies if I'm telling you something you all ready know.

This is my mission version

Nice Krait Fenwe. As a natural cynic, I find I often click to open ship builds prepared to spot all the things I think are wrong with it. But nope, not here. No holes in your Krait's game. Nicely done. Good speed, DPS, jump, integrity, resistances and even a fighter bay. Your build shows why I think the Krait is Elite's best all-rounder.

Here's mine. I was running some haulage yesterday at my new home to raise some faction rep, so it's got some racks in it at the mo. I usually use it for combat scavenging. Shooting ships in to loot pinatas and limpeting up the good stuff. But there is really little this ship cannot do well. So much in fact that it consigned my beloved Python to the mothball fleet, although she was recently reborn as a bus for bulk transport.

Poison Whiskey

Mine's a little lighter (armor) and faster and presumably more agile at the cost of integrity and I have no minion watching out for me. I'm surprised that you get infinite TTD on Coriolis. Our weapons are not that much different, PA vs C3 MC. But you get infinite firing time according to the build. Maybe my autoloader on the C2 multicannons is part of this, and your beams are fixed.

Edit: Just noticed my PD is not fully baked to G5. Doing so adds 30 seconds TTD. So many ships, so few mats.

I love a lot of about the Krait. I have 2. One is my pure AX Hunter , currently just scouts. The other is Tomoe Gozen, that I posted.

The Python makes a better miner, imo, but the Krait brings a lot to the table from a medium 'fighter' perspective. The Chieftain handles better but from my perspective the Krait rocks and rolls.

My pilot Cherry flys the Trident or the Rogue F, but she's elite. Sending her in to attack first gets the NPC to line up on her so that I get a clean shot and if I start to miss, she grabs the aggro back. Beautiful team work.

I learned an awful lot from the posters to these boards, so I try to pay that back.

I went Heavy because I'm a dead hand with a stick. I'm going to get hit so...

One of my mates that I fly with has four Krait IIs, all configured for different roles. I've been thinking of doing the same. As it is, I use the wonderful versatility of this ship to swap modules according to role. The build I posted above was decked out with racks since I had spotted some good delivery missions.

Yesterday I took it to a CNB to do some combat scavenging, which is just my term for combat with occasional stops to scoop up mats. Here is Poison Whiskey with the cargo racks swapped for HD, deep plated HRPs, and the wake scanner swapped for a HD E-booster.

Poison Whiskey CNB

At the cost of about 5 m/s in speed, integrity is tripled. And with resistance stacking through the HRPs, the effect is something greater, with thermal and kinetic hull HP north of 5,000.

Large multicannons have a horrible spin time. The main advantage of multicannons besides their versatility is their tiny distributor draw. The krait has a massive distributor.
That's just personal taste though, the krait is so versatile there's not a lot you can do to go wrong with it.

I'm used to the spin-up. Beams and overcharged autoloaders is my jam :)

You're right, but for me it's rather a non-issue.

And I usually try to work one corrosive in to the works. I'd love an overcharged, autoloader corrosive multicannon, but that's unpossible at this time. But it sure would work for me!
