Ships Need help picking weapons for Viper

Hi, like the title says. I'm having somewhat of an issue with picking weapons. I've been reading suggestions for days now but I have no idea how or what to chose. I'm not really understanding the 1-2-3 Classes & the letters ratings..
This is what I have so far... Also I want Fixed Beam Lasers & Gimbaled Multi Cannons.

Numbers are easy, they relate to the size of the ship's hard points, and the size of weapons. You can fit small weapons in bigger ship slots, but not vice-versa.
1=small
2=med
3=large
4=huge
In your picture, you can see in the description in orange. Beside the description is the size in numbers. Orange is the ship's size, white is your weapon.
Forget the lettering, I never use them. Use the symbols that are shown, like in your screenshot. You see the little electron-type drawing beside Multi-cannon? That means gimballed weapons.
See the round symbols beside the beam laser? That means fixed weapons.
Turrets have their own symbol too.

I run fixed beams and gimbaled MC's on my Viper. The beams will drain your power fast. I recomend A-spec upgrades to both power-plant and distributor. Further, use the beams in short 3-4 second bursts. Once the shields go down, let fly with the MCs.

I can't access elite shipyard at work, otherwise I'd post my build for you. If i remember (or don't get distracted by Metal Gear Solid 5), I'll log in tonight (at home) and post it up.

Add A class thrusters and this ^^^ is a solid Viper. Zoom in on attack passes until capacitor is dry then boom out while capacitor recharges. Is a lot of fun with small beams and medium mc, a lot better on the capacitor, medium mc are awesome and it's more of a classic dogfighter that can joust.

Edit: I don't remember if there is a class 1 PA, but class 1 PA and medium frag cannon would make an excellent kiting\jousting Assassin, probably more capacitor efficient and more costly than a class 2 beam setup. I'd name her "Sting" :)

I used to just go with multi cannons for size 2s and beam lasers for size 1's in PvE. Did the job quite well in 1on1 encounters but three vultures crapping on you you had no chance. ;)
 
I think I may have posted this before but here you go:
This is the build I use currently on my viper. Keep in mind that you can out boost anything except for an A-Kitted Cobra. When / If you get in a pinch you can retract weapons deploy chaff and boost until you can jump to safety. The Viper has the speed to let you pick your engagements so use that to your advantage.

Doesn't the Archon have a class 1 beam that's better against shields than standard beams? Or Antal? I'd figure that sort of weapon would be perfect for the Viper.

Small PAs would give a lot of ships more functionality.....just saying.

To be completely honest that weapon, I hate to say, is for the most part junk... look at the feedback for the cytoscrambler I do not think I said anything groundbreaking.
Just my opinion.
