Need Help using Xbox One Controller

Hello, I just got ED for PC, to use with my VR headset.
I am using an xbox one controller, use it on my xbox one with Elite Dangerous for years, works great.

Problem is, in this pc version, if I map something like:
B button = Boost.
B and Up on Dpad = lights on
B and Down on the Dpad = Landing Gear down

What happens is, no matter what I do from those three examples above, my ship will BOOST. Pretty bad when I go to drop my landing gear like I do on Xbox one, and I boost into the landing pad everytime.
Same with every other button on my controller. So I basically cannot use A, B, X, or Y. Because every combination will involve one of those buttons, and the default for using 'just' the button will always engage for everything I try to do.

Has anyone else had this issue, or found a fix? It doesn't work this way on my xbox one. And Im using the same controller.

with vr and an xbox pad sounds like you need voice attack badly
look for vids on elite dangerous and voice attack on you tube there are loads of em if you don't know what I am referring too
personally I wont leave the docking clamps without it...……………...

It works fine on xbox one, just not on pc for some reason. I know a lot of people use the xbox one controller, when they don't have a hotas. I just don't know how they make the buttons work, or what's up with mine.
I'm connecting my controller to my pc with the little microsoft usb bluetooth connector btw. Maybe that's it?

yea I use an x box controller my self but I use voice control for things like boost chaff heatsink pips cargo scoop silent running etc
when you custom rebind the control I would suggest having boost on its own separate button.... things like lights are non essential really so i would leave that on a keyboard key like v for eg as it looks like a touch beam and is not really used when things get hairy out there
