Need help verifying this cool feature

Hello all explorers!

Recently the GMP recieved a submission for an interesting feature - gas giant rings moving at amazing speed (see below). We added this as a POI, since we assume everyone submits valid stuff.

I've visited this system today and can not confirm the rings' speed. I've talked to the original submitter and we haven't been able to determine what is going on.

Are there any explorers willing to head over to Eodgols ZQ-U c16-49 and see if these rings are actually moving at high speed?

I've had this happen to me one time before it was really cool. I had dropped out in just the rights pot apparently. One section of ring wasn't moving at all and then apparently the next section of rings was moving way fast...think it could be a rare glitch or just something you have to drop out at the right place to see.

Chances are that the original submitter dropped out in the middle of a gap between A and B rings.
If you drop out in the gap more on the B ring side, you take on the instance of the B ring. B ring appears stationary while A ring whizzes by.

They probably dropped out in the B ring instance, then flew over to the A ring side to get the illusion of speed.

Yep, that's how it went for me. I like to dive between the gaps in the rings and I got too close on one path and had this happen. One side was slowly moving the other was rushing past, was cool.

I'd say you could probably go to any ring and attempt to drop out at the right moment to get the effect

I thought this might be possible, so I tried to duplicate the effect, but without any luck. I think I'll have to try again.

The gap between the rings would have to be small enough to allow you to fly between them, tho

It's not just an illusion of speed, either. There's a video somewhere from the Crab Nebula Expedition where a wing dropped on the boundary to look at this, and headed towards the A ring.

Lots of "wow, those are going fast, this is great" chat.

Then suddenly the one in front explodes, presumably as an asteroid travelling at multiple km/s goes past...

Can confirm, I did this last night. the ring that was moving really fast was glitching some stationary rocks in and out of space.
