[Need help] What's the maximum fsd range increase?

You already have an excellent roll with your 53%.
In theory you could go a few percent higher, if you roll 50% on the primary and get lucky with the secondary.
Or you could stop obsessing over an extra 0.5LY (in an exploration build) and just play the game.

I'm not sure if those numbers are real, but I've had some rolls before this one and I can tell that even 5%
affects that range by quite alot, not sure about all the tips and tricks of an exploration build you're talking about,
but when you decide to go 25k ly away from a human inhabited space, those 3ly can turn into 300 after 100 jumps.
The more you know...

You shouldn't put so much importance into getting the highest roll.
It is affecting your enjoyment of the game, this grinding thing.

For the same reasons listed below, I would work hard to get that sweet-sweet high roll just
to not get bored (more than I could've) while I'm flying towards the center of the galaxy.
The only thing I have troubles with is datamined wake solutions, since they're very rare.
Other than that, grinding for the grade 5 become a vacation after the last patch.

There is no such thing as luck and randomness with seeded numbers doesn't exist either.

Well, I just need to sit down and wait 'till I get the seeded number above 53% and I'll be happy for the rest of the trip.

I want you to take a nice walk outside and enjoy your day.
There's a rainstorm couped with shower of hail, but okay. Why not? [big grin]

Quick off-topic question:

I have yet to travel 5K ly for Palin and I'm not looking forward to this..
Was 5K ly always the requirement or was it more but nerfed after the last update?

Still think it's to much though.

I could be wrong but I don't think any of the engineer unlock requirements have changed except for Didi's lust for lavian brandy.

53% is my personal best, got that one on my explorer-Asp. Otherwise I've got mostly 49% to 51% on the commonly used ships in my fleet.

My best roll was 55% on my Cutter. Can you say uber-trader? 21/30 loaded/unloaded
but then...
I tried a L3 DD thruster mod and got 5 results that were so bad I threw them all out.

actually that would only be true, if you could always in a straight line, which you can't, for star density and how routeplotting works.

having unloaded my build at jaques, i have now 5 ly jumprange more again.

before i needed 24 jumps for a 1000 ly plot.
now i need 23 jumps for a 1000 ly plot.

so, 5 ly more e.g. without cargo would have reduced my travel time to jaques for 22 jumps - thats around 20 minutes.

How would it? It would only make it worse.

You're making the fastest route with all available stars. The new route plotter allowing selective stars would increase the length, not decrease.

exactly. with only a sample of stars to pick from you will fly even less straight.

Nevertheless i'm interested to read what the best is you can get with 25 rolls.

Nothing special, sadly. Turns out I had 54.3% on my existing FSD, so for great science I had to remove it.
There was some 51-53%, but I was dumb enough to re-roll them.
(not by accident, but because I thought it's gonna mess up my possibility to get it higher after I accept that)

Now I'm stuck with solid 50% increase and better fuel consumption than I've previously had on my initial one.
(Guess I should say my dearest goodbyes to those +3 lightyears, lol) Hope +8% will make a great deal to it.

I was testing some power plants before all that and I had 4A with 22% additional heat-efficency installed,
and since it still had some spare juice in it I decided to get one class lower and managed to modify it to 25%.
(I belive maximum cap is 20%, plus 5% is the highest additional effect on lvl 1 mod I've seen so far)

All those manipulations left me with 50ly minimal hop distance.
Now I should pack things up and depart as soon as I squeeze my balls into a fist
hard enough 'till it gives me maximum courage without crushing them entirely.
