Ship Builds & Load Outs Need help with and exploration-conda build

I have an Anaconda, not very well outfitted I might add....I have a C rated PP and only have about 70 mil so I'm a long way off from an A rated one. I have an A rated FSD, C rated thrusters, B rated shields. I never have done any real exploring but the latest CC sounds like fun and I'd really like to see what the group-mind thinks would be a good "travel-'Conda" setup. I guess I could Sell some of my other A rated ships for some build cash....Any suggestions would be great.

No expert on Anaconda's but the general rule for exploration ships is keep it light, so a lot D rated and low power consumption equipment, weapons are optional apparently (not to me BTW ;)) fit some turrets to distract the enemy as you hi-wake out of there but nothing too heavy, have a look at this build good range, decent armour, shields, additional fuel tank and some cargo capacity, a better fuel scoop would be nice but they get real pricey after C grade.

Having nearly pancaked an Asp scout (A thrusters) on a 2g planet I'd suggest at least 7D thrusters for high g planets with the Anaconda, also keeping roll as near zero as possible is essential as high roll angle mean the ship is being supported by the less powerful lateral thrusters and will sideslip groundwards (bounced a Cobra mk4 off the ground from low altitude).

I reckon you want to try landings on fractional g with the Anaconda and then slowly increase the g levels once you're comfortable with the ships handling at each level, I can see the Anaconda's small fighter capability become popular when it's available.

Thank you all...the Auto field maintenance units....For long trips correct? Wouldn't A rated ones be better? Would it better to just buy an Asp and outfit it for exploration? I never owned an asp so I don't know but it seems to be the explorer of choice or would my Anaconda be better in this roll?

Asp is MUCH cheaper and only loses out on two LY, but the Conda wins on range and durability.

IMO afmus are pretty useless since the only damage you'd take is flying into a sun lol.

if you don't plan on landing, and are not that type of explorer scanning a lot of planets, an anaconda is great. it's slower turning rate in supercruise is the only contra if you don't land. ah, and you should like the ship you take out.

It really depends on how far you're going as to fit AFMU's or not, a few thousand LY round trip don't bother but if it's several 10's of thousands then module wear and tear becomes significant and you can get to the point of module failure and it's game over man! ;)

So it's down to planning your exploration trip then equipping your ship suitably for the journey, if you just want to try exploring I'd suggest a Cobra mk4 loads of internal so you can have SRV's, AMFU's, scanner's the lot
