Need help with bedding issue!

Hello! I am trying to make a cave shelter for my animals with the terrain modification tools, which is going well. I can make the cave just fine.

The problem is, whenever I try to place bedding inside the cave, it hollows out the terrain. I've tried everything I can think of. I've tried clicking "Flatten Terrain" on and off, I've tried checking my global settings to make sure there's nothing there causing it, I've tried restarting the zoo, I've tried restarting the game... no matter what I do, the bedding will not stop flattening my terrain! I'm a pretty new player so it's possible I'm missing a setting I just don't know about, but if I am, it's not obvious.

Has anyone else had this issue, and does anyone else know how to make it stop? I'd love to be able to use cave shelters for my animals but right now it's not possible because the bedding is deleting the ceiling of my cave!

You can't disable it, you just have to work around it. You can make bigger caves or just redo the ceiling after you placed the bedding :)

Oh and to note, it's not just the bedding that messes with the terrain, most feeding and enrichement items do that to, so you have to be carefull where you place them or you will get some ugly terrain modification ;)

Ah, okay. I've watched a number of Youtubers do it and they don't seem to have that issue, but maybe their caves are just larger than mine and it's hard to tell. Thank you!
