Need help with interdictions

With the latest 1.4.01 patch, interdictions were made easier. I have been undermining for quite some time now, for the last several weeks with an Anaconda. After the patch, interdictions have been relatively easy for me. I probably have a success rate of 98% at interdicting and evading.

Yesterday, I decided to take the Imperial Clipper for a spin. Whoa! Interdictions were difficult again. Maybe not to the level of when 1.4 was released but I estimate that during roughly one hour, I had a success rate of maybe 50%.

From what I can "feel", it seems that the Clipper being more agile than the Anaconda, possibly combined with my Saitek X52, makes keeping the dot centered in the reticle much harder. Maybe I've been too used to the Anaconda but my big problem was NOT overdoing my maneuvers. Initially, when trying to compensate when the target would veer off, I would just overshoot the target. But still, it feels to me that my joystick is way too sensitive for it. Of course, I don't want to change my control settings for interdictions as it would apply to the rest of the game and I like the joystick as it is. It was recognized by ED the first time I used it and I pretty much left the standard bindings in place. Wish there would be separate settings for the interdiction minigame but that would still be a pain as I would have to change them when switching ships. Currently, since I win 98% of my interdictions with the Anaconda, obviously, the stick is fine in its settings as it is. It's when I fly more agile ships that it's a lot harder. I had the same feeling with the Python but to a lesser degree than the Clipper.

So, any suggestion, hint or help about how to mitigate the "overshooting" of the interdiction target when it tries to evade?
