Newcomer / Intro Need help with quest. Black Ops Hit: Eliminate Gen. Jaroszewicz

So, I got this quest Black Ops Hit: Eliminate Gen. Jaroszewicz as a federal promotion chance. The known location listed on the quest is is Alpha Centauri. The problem is, I've been there for close to 2 hours now jumping into every unidentified signal, and i am getting absolutely nothing. Is this not what I am suppose to do?

That sounds about right, but they normally turn up with a few USSs

So... what, I am just expected to fly around this one star for several hours until i bump into him?

I would double check everything on the mission.
Then jump out of system and back in.
Then maybe exit and restart.

2 hours is a VERY long time. After 10 USSs I would smell a rat.
I assume you are looking for USSs at 0% throttle and not running about wasting time.

Found him - he was in a USS. it did take around 2 hours to find him though :/
