Need info on how to complete mission

Howdy,

i've been bounty hunting a while and thought i'd take on a mission or two, can't be that difficult. So i accepted one where i have to kill 2 pirate ships in two systems. The description is not specific if i have to kill two in both systems or i can just kill two in one or have to kill one in both - anyway, i did it all, but there's no way to complete the mission. Any advice? Thanks!

A total of 2 kills in any of the systems named will do.

To count as kills, it's best to have a cargo on board ( a couple of tons of anything will do ), then either get interdicted, and let them scan you, demand cargo, then open fire when you just sit and wait, or drop into USS points and do the same.

I often find, that just scanning ships for a 'wanted' status and killing them doesn't count.

Also, it's worth noting that very often, once you are part way through the mission, you may drop into a USS and get a message from a 'clean' ship to change the mission.

It's up to you whether you continue with the original or do the alternate.

Bear in mind that this encounter will reset your kill count for the mission, so I often dont kill anything till I get this, then do the mission.

Often the alternate mission will severely annoy the faction you took the mission from, as it will change to killing feds or whatever.

I generally carry on killing pirates, otherwise your rep can suffer badly, and you end up a wanted man! :)

Do a screenshot of the mission. You should just need 2 pirate's in either system I'm guessing. Wanted are not always pirates by the way.

go back to the system and station that gave you the mission, then go to the bulletin board there - you should be able to complete it.

Assuming you have killed 2 actual pirates. I believe the mission description in your transactions tab shows a counter and I cover that.

So i can't just interdict wanted ships? That's an odd logic, somehow. I'll try some more and see what happens, thanks for the help!

No worries!

BTW just because you have a wanted status, it doesn't mean you are a pirate.

You could just be really bad at requesting docking permission, or you accidentally shot someone you shouldn't have.

That's why they may not be counting...do the USS thing - I find it works best, and let them fire first!

Job'll be a good 'un ;)

Not every wanted pilot is a pirate, makes sense. I also just now completed the mission by dropping into the location of a few USS. Thanks!
