Need more animals commonly at the entrance of the zoo

I’ve noticed that planet zoo currently lacks animals that you normally would see at the entrance of the zoo. Animals such as various small to medium size birds. Possibly a koi pond may be possible in the future at some point.

I’m sure every zoo varies on which animals they put near the entrance but these types of animals are fairly common front placement animals. I know my local zoo has pelicans and then a exhibit for waterfowl and turkey in another exhibit along with a couple turtles. They do have plans to put black bears at the front in the future to spruce up the entrance a little bit but usually the less desirable to see animals (of course all are unique and great in their own ways) go to the front. I currently use flamingos for that role currently but any of these animals here would be great choices.

Would absolutely love all of them. Would also like Patagonian Maras, more domesticated Animals and maybe also wild Rabbits

The first animals you see at my local zoo are the macaws. In fact most of their birds are towards the front, though there's a few elsewhere.

At my local it's the meerkats and porcupines in the kopje directly ahead, and if you go right the old gibbon island is there (they've been moved to the Great Ape Centre since the orangutans went back to Auckland Zoo). Wellington Zoo has the otters as the first animals you see, and Auckland has a kind of sprawling plaza but the entrance to their Pridelands exhibit is nearby (though that starts with meerkats, leopard tortoises, and lovebirds now).

In-game my zoos tend to start with a small animal. Usually red pandas, capuchins, or lemurs. In any case I'd love more waterfowl. I've discovered that I'm kind of obsessed with the idea of a natural lake populated with pelicans, swans, and ducks.

I agree, I'm one of those fellas who start a zoo with birds but I'm growing bored of peafowls and flamingos, definitely need more birds, at least 8 new if I am to be too ambitious!!

At the woodland zoo the first animals are the cape penguins. The Beardsley zoo has peafowls roaming around but not a true “first animal”.
some zoos and aquariums have the typical conservation boards, food, gift shop etc or at least some smaller animals for viewing.
I’d like it if flamingos were not so easily stressed.

Of the three reputable zoos in my state, one starts with North American river otters and the two others start with petting zoos. Discounting the petting zoo species, the first animal at the other two are greater flamingos and black swans, and, once again, North American river otters. I don’t think many zoos I’ve been to have what I’d think of when i think of “entrance” species… especially pelicans, which are still hard for me to wrap my head around as being a zoo species. They just… aren’t here, lol.

But because of those two zoos I’ve definitely been silently hoping for North American river otters while everyone else has been pushing for Asian small-clawed otters. I’d love either one though.
