Need New Project inspiration

As some of you may know OakWood Zoo has been giving me a bit of a struggle with either loading once every 10 tries or simply not loading at all. Its obvious that unless some miracle happens I'm not gonna be able to work on the zoo much longer, today I probably tried loading in 20 times and it only worked once, then I saved came back later and I still can't get in after 20 more tries. So thats just great.

Anyway now I guess I'm looking for a new project to start and tonight I tried loading and coming up with something but I honestly have no ideas, I wasn't expecting to start a new zoo anytime soon. I would love suggestions for any themes of a zoo, these would be my main guidelines for the new project:
  • Staying with the general realistic building style (nothing futuristic or fantasy) as this is what I'm mainly good at in building.
  • Smaller Project, I would actually like to finish a zoo in the 4 years of playing this game.
  • To avoid repeating animals and episodes, I would like to stray away from building for animals I had in OakWood already.

Have you reached out to Frontier? This sounds very similar to the issue Ceasar Creates had. Frontier created a fix for him to allow his zoo to continue.

As for new ideas: I haven't watched your OakWood series so don't know what type of animals you used, but you could go for a biome specific project that is very different from whatever biome you were working in and including only animals that will thrive in said biome. Another thought is something that I have been toying with for a while now and it is a tiny critters (or low budget) zoo project. In that scenario you stay away from all the major species we tend to think of when thinking of zoos like your lions, tigers, giraffes etc. Instead you focus on smaller animals, of which we have quite a few now, that are realistically relatively cheap to acquire and maintain. It also helps with your 'smaller project' goall as all animals are small, thus requiring smaller habitats to build for, meaning you can do it in a shorter time frame.

I had an idea yesterday on a really interesting zoo, but I’m in the middle of one so maybe you can put it to good use.

Somewhere in the heart of the Californian desert…

There’s a place where Lions can be heard
A spot where Flamingoes squawk all day
Where the Rhino and the Secretary Bird
Have a haven on the river clay…

It’s Kulinda Wildlife Refuge! (Name pending)
Kulinda translates to “Protect” in Swahili

Alright trashy poetry aside…

It’s a resort and zoo, almost like Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. I originally intended it to be all or mostly African species but honestly you can do whatever you want.

So there would be a hotel portion and a zoo portion. You could probably see some of the habitats from certain rooms. It sounds like a bit of a daunting project but you could probably just copy and paste most of the rooms.

I would but I don’t know if they would do anything because it took them a month to fix Cesar creates zoo and his zoo is one of the most known zoos right now, whereas mine isn’t that popular. I’ll try contacting them anyway just to be safe though.

Other project ideas:
. A smaller New England based zoo (you know I have to include this) look at Capron and Buttonwood zoos for inspo
. A Wildlife Rehab center
. A zoo for a town you’re close with irl, this is a really fun idea because you already know where it is and how it should look architecture-wise
. A rehab center for a national park
. Maybe a zoo in an area you’re not familiar with, it’s really interesting to learn about the place you’re building

How would I contact them? Like Cesar creates contacted an influencer manager, but how do I find them?
I honestly think the only reason cesar got that zoo fixed was because of how much of an influencer they are to the pz community. That in turn gives a person connections to the right people at frontier rather than the average support agent we talk to.

Yeah that’s what I was thinking unfortunately

That is really unfair to be honest, specially because the "Big" names even get the content for free and we pay for it, yet they get a fix for theirs zoos and the common player just has to accept to lost all their work.

That is really unfair to be honest.
I've also had issues with some zoos of mine to be told "unfortunately zoo files can become corrupted for unknown reasons". It sucks the average player is forced to start a new zoo losing potentially years worth of work, it's why im so paranoid about saving. I often find myself saving the main zoo file up to 3 times in a row to ensure no corruption happens. Then of course new features like the gift shops or even back to the restaurant building can mess up saves. I have and still do hold back 1-2 months after the new update for multiple patch updates to hopefully fix any issues with new features.

Try sending in a ticket here?

I’ll try that but I also asked him (commenter) to see if he knew where I could contact them. Worth a shot.

Let’s see . . . maybe try challenging yourself by using a building/theme style you’re not too familiar with. You can also focus on some animals that you haven’t used much.
