Need Pro advice on outfitting stock at stations

I have 3 questions about outfitting.

Before I ask, I want you to know where I'm coming from. In the past 2 days, I've spent about 6 hours jumping from high-tech system to system searching for C3 Gimballed Beam Lasers for large hard points, the most powerful gimballed beam laser in the game. They are EXCEEDINGLY rare. If you happen to have seen them, I can assure you that I am not wrong and that you are LUCKY. I came to the forums to ask for help locating this weapon. I received replies that included such things as "I'm sitting in X station looking at them right now, come get them" and they even listed the correct price, so there's no possibility of a mix-up. I reach the station within the next couple of hours....and no C3 lasers.

Other info: I play SOLO mode, I have seen the C3 gimballed beam laser before in a high-tech system during a civil war with conflict zones but could not afford them at the time. They are no longer available at that system and disappeared as soon as the civil war ended.

THE QUESTIONS:

1. Can/does the hardpoint weapon choices of a given space station change over time?
If yes, how often do they change? Does powerplay/civil war have anything to do with what is stocked?​

2. Do you know a location anywhere in human space that ALWAYS sells C3 Gimballed Beam lasers (2.3 mil apx). By "always", I mean you've been around the station for a very long time and see them all the time in outfitting.

3. Any ideas on why I don't see the weapon in X station only 1 hour after a player has told me he's looking at it in the stock of that station?

Stock in general does change, no idea how often. I have found certain stations seem to retain all stock, my chosen home bases always have the high end stock I require.

Anyway, try Faust 68. Haven't been in a month, but they always stocked C3 gimballed beams when I passed through

I cannot answer point 1. All I can say is that there does seem to be a fixed stockpile of each module produced by stations - and they can sell out. A friend found a C3 Gimballed Burst Laser I was looking for - I went to the station where he got it and it wasn't available anymore. What the stock is, how often it is replenished and whether it is replenished by individual modules requiring certain metals sold etc to the station to build it or how long it takes to build - that's all just speculation. What is without doubt is that stock can run out.

I used to have extreme difficulty finding C3 Gimballed Beam Lasers myself, but now have several mounted on my ships. The key seems to be high population and also it is not necessarily just High-Tech - it is also Industrial stations that sell the greatest variety of ship parts. For fitting, I go to Anlave system. One of the three big stations there always has what I need. It also currently benefits from the 20% discount on outfitting for being part of Hudson's space. This is where I always go to find C3 Gimballed Beam Lasers. In my experience, you would have to be exceptionally unlucky not to find one at one of the three main stations in that system.

Point 3, see confirmation of your experience above.

From flying around the same area and changing my load out it seems that what station stock stays very static. For instance I know if I want an A5 shield cell bank, the hi tech system never has it, but the industrial one beside it, does. This seems to imply stock doesn't change, or at least not very often, but I cannot say for sure.

On your last question, I remember hearing somewhere that your reputation with the controlling faction in a station can affect what is for sale and being allied allows more stuff. Again I cannot say for certain that this is true, maybe someone else would know more. But this could explain why one player can see something you can't.

Just bought one in Anlave last night. There are three stations in Anlave and I can usually find what I'm looking for. It's a Hudson-controlled system and currently has a 20% discount on ships and outfitting.

You're the second person to have said Anlave. Are they EVER out? Because I don't want to go hundreds of light years and get there to find nothing. Not to say you didn't buy them but is that station restocked pretty often?

It goes without saying that there are no guarantees. There's no Amazon to tell you there's only 3 left. Just trying to be helpful but...

I got them in Anlave about an hour ago, Hogg City station. Then sold them, 3 x C3 gimballed beams run too hot,

edit: they are also 20% cheaper
