Newcomer / Intro Need some advice on ship upgrade?

So currently I'm sitting at 369,498 Credits. I am currently still using my sidewinder which has been a great little ship. I've settled in to bounty hunting and find it a lot of fun but I pretty much just hunting at Nav Becons and now I think it's time to spread my wings a bit. So I'm think of upgrading to the Eagle. However not sure what I should get with the amount of money as far as weapons and internal stuff. So you guys have an advice?

I would advise you to try an Adder.
She can do delivery missions and trade, also has a nice jump range, should you decide to venture into darkness, and has two small and one medium hardpoint, so she can also pack a nice punch if you still want to have fun at nav beacons.

It's a nice small ship. A bit like a VW minivan with a 12.7 AA gun. :)

OP, depends on what rocks your boat. Eagle is a single trick pony - bounty hunting. I agree with the poster above: Adder seems like a neat little ship. Fast, maneuverable, decent range, decent cargo hold. You can have a half way decent one for around 260k. Also note that even though Eagle is relatively fast and agile, once its shields are gone, it is dead. Adder has 225% of armor rating compared to an Eagle.

Well right now I've really gotten in to bounty hunting which is the first thing I've found in this game I can do and do really well. If I decided to do some exploring I will make some alterations to my sidewinder. She won't cost me anything and with a few upgrades she make a great exploring vessel.

I don't take a lot of damage in combat. I don't play in open play yet. I plan on it in the future when I have a Joystick and throttle. Right now as good as I am with mouse and keyboard I feel like im playing with my hand tied behind my back. Once I get the Joystick and throttle and put some time in to so I get feel for combat with FA off and what not I am going to step in to Open Play. Right now I'm just having fun with the AI and earn money here and there.

I went with eagle and got her squared away. I'll dump some more money in to her as I go but for now I'm pretty happy with what I bought.

The Eagle is a great ship for bounty hunting but she has paper thin shields and hull and pitiable cargo space. The Adder is only slightly less manoeuvrable and has a much more versatile load-out potential.

I'll have to agree with the Adder suggestion.
I've used an Eagle for a while recently (context: I own bigger ships) and while it's super fun to fly and have (even bought a skin for it:),
I don't get what it's supposed to be. You don't get that much more value out of it, especially seeing how those Class 3 slots will tear holes in your wallet.
