Need some help getting back from Beagle Point

Hi, I made the trip to Beagle Point as part of Distant Worlds 2 and have been away from the game since arriving there. Now need to get back to civilization and make some Credits to buy a home base when ship carriers are released. BUT …. I have a jump range of around 45LY and don't really know how to get back to the bubble. I believe I need to get to SMOOTOAE QY-S D3-202 but cannot plot a course. Same with CHEAE EURL AA-A E0 etc.

Can someone point me in the right direction in terms of getting back??

Thanks for any help.

I had this issue on my last trip in a 47 LY Asp.

If you try and take the direct route or follow Spansh I ended up in Newton's Vault where the route plotter would not calculate a path. It took me a dozen or so boosted jumps, some at premium to reach a point where the plotter would start working. It might be worth trying to work down the eastern side a bit before looking for a place where you can cross with your default jump.

I'm having similar on approach to BP on my current voyage. I can plot to the Eishat systems, but no further. I will need to take several single stage jumps from the map before I pick up the more plentiful star fields.

This is what I did with a 35ish Ly Anaconda and headed down the Sagittarius - Carina Arm for some distance before the system density filled out a bit lower down and then I began to cross back towards to the core and then the Bubble.

You may need to plot short distances at first to get going with the odd premium jump but as long as you stay central to the arm it shouldn't be a problem. Can't imagine you having much issues seeing as you have more range than I did.

With a 45ly range you should be pretty much able to just fly straight to the bubble. You might need to do some short plots initially, just going half way to Sgr A* and expecting a 20kly plot to work would be optimistic but 500-1000ly at a time until you're across the Abyss and you'll be grand.

I am sure there is a list of systems to fly through for a 30ly jump range ship.

Ah yes here it is on EDSM

Another option I'll plug: https://github.com/SorenHeinze/gap_jumper

That is a python script that uses EDSM data to compute routes through sparse regions, including using boosted jumps only when necessary. Works great out in the Abyss region (and other "popular" parts of the rim) since the majority of stars are in the EDSM database already.

Also keep in mind that if you try to plot a route straight down the middle, you might run afoul of the permit locked regions that are between BP and Sgr-A*. There are two clusters of them in between, and any attempt at a course plot across them will just fail.

EDIT: If you look at the EDastro interactive map and turn on POI Markers, you'll see them marked with red pins.

Interesting... (BTW that site doesn't work in IE had to use Google Chrome.

Looks as if the best way back from Beagle Point is to head east for a bit to Sublustris Beacon, then turn in towards the Bubble which should avoid those restricted areas.
