Need some help my googlefu has failed me

Logged in this morning and went about my way and get interdicted, look at radar all solid icons so i try the mini game and fail..... Since i started playing i have never failed to escape from a npc, that said i know im toast (trade ship unarmed but shielded) so i accept the rebuy and pop back to the station only to see

" Cmdr so and so killed you"

What gives? I have found its a known bug for mac and windows,
Validated both through steam and the launcher ( direct no steam )
And did a fresh install when those didnt work, and you guys are still solid. You werent yesterday.


Is there a fix for that? And im playing on a hp laptop at low settings have been since i started so i dont think its that.

When destroyed by NPC's the buy screen will still indicate you where killed by CMDR Randomnpcnamehere.
The radar icon issue is news to me. solid = NPC hollow = Player. did not know they are broken.
If you where currently engaged in a Mission the chances of interdiction are high it was a NPC.
More over if you got a message just before the interdiction happened like "Just the ship i was looking for" or something similar those are NPC lines.
Yeah ive seen player pirates mimic them but they dont directly try to blow you up, they want the cargo.

Another trick to confirm it was a player. you can go to the top chat window (top left) and tab over . their should be a list of CMDR's that you have encountered. one will say "killed by" if it is infact the case a player caught you and a glitch with the icons.

Im not complaining about being killed by another player. Im asking if there is a fix to actual players showing up as solid npc boxes in the radar.

I was unaware of the radar issue. but found it has been reported.
So i guess the quick answer is "no" currently no fix for players radar icon showing as solid at this time.

Sorry - I had just woken up (was still in bed!) and didn't process the posts properly.
