As many probably have already spoken about on the forums and in emails, SLi/Xfire currently isn't implemented at all in the PB2.02, which can leave many with those setups yearning to force it, but find that textures aren't rendering correctly with the second card enabled. Using one card is probably more than enough to render most environments currently, but as the Galaxy Map starts to fill up more and more, it might start hitting a ceiling as it currently seems to render most bodies in the system in real time.
I'm hoping sometime before the next Beta starts, we do see some significant improvements to the way the environment is rendered on screen, as well as maybe some implementation of multi-GPU setups, since it will most likely become a issue as more people enter into the community IG. To say that I expect SLi/Xfire to be implemented by the next BETA would be far from the truth, but I do see much to improve in the optimization department as the game currently stands, so any progress in these two regards will be most appreciated!
Loving the game as it currently starts taking shape! Once I can become a Lawful Enforcer of the Federation, I might just be stuck playing this until Star Citizen comes into fruition with my Cutlass pirate crew! Yar!
