Need the ability to sell ships that are in other locations

The navigation system is so bad that I can't seem to plot a route back to where my other ship is located...I feel like I am lost in space.
The ability to sell my other 2 ships that are in other systems would be great to have to put into upgrading my current Cobra. I feel dumb for storing them instead of selling them or trading them in...

This game has a tendency towards making the player feel dumb and that they have made huge mistakes because it lacks so many features, or has very punishing features. Not a great thing, all things considered.

I agree , I would also like to have the option to buy (at higher cost) ships remotly at a diferent shipyard

Would like this kind of an option, if not just for the reason that sooner or later I'll end up with a few hundred sideys scattered here and there... Sell the whole shebang without jumping to each and every of them individually.

If you could do this in the game I'd suggest there be an additional cost involved; surely some agent or transportation fee would be in order?

I think it should just be able to be done in any station that has a shipyard. You can instantly sell it if you were docked in the shipyard it is stored in without needing an agents fee, so you should be able to do it remotely without a fee either.

It's simply a matter of "Oh...I am 200lys away from my other ship, might as well just sell it on and get the money back." Currently it is like getting kicked in the nuts when you realise you have basically just thrown away a million credits by pointlessly storing a ship because you have upgraded it and are attached to it.

Ship storing is a nice idea, but it has not been executed well at all. No ability to sell stored ships remotely and no ability to have ships transported to your current location.

The ability to retrieve a ship remotely is part of the planned part for the game, at least it was planned back in the beta/gamma.

There is a school of thought that communication in the galaxy is limited to the speed of light, requiring faster communications to be via courier so - hence some of the missions to deliver message/decoding chips.
If so, then there would be a delay while the transactions are transmitted and actioned, as well as for the credits to reach your account.

I'm still looking forward to the passenger troops on an Orca to take you back to your shops....

Selling a ship at a distant station would involve communications with that station, if that was possible you would be able to get commodity prices at other stations. See the problem!

Never had a moment in this game where I felt dumb, and if I ever felt stupid as a result of playing a game I think I would find something else to do with my time until I was in a more amicable mood.

That being said, I agree with being able to sell your ship from a distance with an additional Broker's fee, along with being able to pay to have them transported, to be able to swap modules, to be able to transport your own ships in your larger freighters, etc... All of this is vital to the gameplay experience, in my opinion.

Getting interdicted in a type 9 will take on a whole new edge when you're transporting your buddy's pimped out Cobra. :D

While we're at it i want to be able to buy weapons as cargo and take them to my other ship to fit there. So many times i've been flying my type 6 and have found the weapon i want for my Viper, which is stored 100 LY away...

I like the idea of working ship-transporting into gameplay.

If I want my ship moved from Bodb Dearg to Atins, I'd offer 100k cr for someone to do it, and when they accept the contract I'd take an insurance policy on the ship and they'd deliver it. Good pilots who got ships there in one piece could make out pretty well. Bad pilots would pay a lot of insurance. I suppose if someone just flew off with my ship, we mark it as "stolen" and the insurance company puts a great big bounty on them.

Yeah this would be a useful function, even if it took maybe a day for the sale/message to get through the space time continuum..

If I remember correctly it's already on the cards for 'sometime'... It was mentioned in one of the video blogs during development.

another ship you own will be able to be transported to your current location but only as fast as it could travel to you if you were flying it (no instantaneous relocation) and possibly at a transportation cost.
