Need tipps for less litter in the Zoo

Hey guys,

okay, I swear I have A LOT of care takers and I have trash cans on both sides of a walkway not more than maybe 1 or two in game meters apart - but my guests are littering all over the place and then almost 50% of them complain about the litter. It's driving me up a wall. Are there any tipps or tricks to stop the tremendous amount of littering?

You may be doing this already, but I actually assign my caretakers zones to include a habitat, usually 3-4 habitats actually. I had a lot of litter problems until I started doing that. Then, they supposedly work to clean litter around that zone. I say supposedly because I don't know if that's actual how it works coding-wise, but I assume it must since there's been a big difference before I started assigning them habitat areas, and after. Hopefully this helps!

Litter is a pain though. I know plenty of times that I had a very smoothly running zoo,...except for the litter problems.

Yes, my caretakers already have workzones that includes habitats. I draged the workzones with my mouse, if that makes any difference.

The litter problem that has also been mentioned in this thread should be resolved alongside this, as it's also to do with the navigation.

Thank you. Missed that one, as I was playing without guests (and litter) at that time. Hopefully the update fixes the issue.

litter is only produced if your guests eat and drink. guests do not produce litter when you only have gift shops.

Thank you for asking, I appreciate. Didn't have a chance to play much today, but I'll fire up the game tomorrow and let you know, once my poor caretakers had a chance to clean the existing litter

Soooo... a very careful update on this one. I could play for a bit this morning and my care takes will probably need a few ingame month to clear the mess pre-ptach. I monitored a small section in front of food and drink facilities and once it was clean, it seems to stay clean (a lot of bins are around). Tonight or tomorrow I will be able to play a little longer and will keep an eye on this issue, but for now it seems to be resolved.

On a side note: I'll also send my save file later today for the climbingframes miscounting issue. Hope it'll help. Thank you for taking care of these bugs.

To anyone reading this with a similar problem- get on it early. I ignored it with an extremely large zoo for several months until over 70% of guests were noticing it. I ended up having to devote several days of gameplay to this alone, hiring 80-100 new keepers assigned to 15 new workzones each centered on a trouble spot as shown on the litter heatmap. If this had been anything but a sandbox zoo or if I had cared about profit in any way this would have killed the zoo.
