Engineers Need to vent - 600 ly trip just to get podded at my destination by a combat logger..

So, I flew from Sol to Maia, picked up a meta alloy, flew from Maia to Deciat and then got intercepted by a CMDR ***** just before coming out of FSAD at my destination.
He didn't scan me and he was in a Python.
I'm flying a Viper, and he attacked me and kills me before I could even turn to face him...

I thought I had it bad with the super-powered NPC's I was encountering at the beginning of the week.. jeez.
That's it for Online play for me, I'm going back to Solo.

I don't have the patience or the gametime to lose everything without even a chance of a fight..
Please no 'git gud' comments.. I love this game and I hate it when someone ruins my fun.

If ever a CMDR interdicts don't turn to face them...start boosting and get good distance, then try comms if you care to speak. They Python can't catch a Viper so use your speed.

Also, if you don't want to see 'git gud' comments, you probably shouldn't post, because they are coming (especially since you said it)

Finally, you might want to scrub that CMDR name before a mod does it for you.

Boost > FA-off > Pitch up > Boost in opposite direction, is practically impossible to counter in any of the slow ships, were you in a MK3 or 4? MK3 is faster than a python by 40m/s or so

Keep boosting until the mass lock breaks and hope for the best. A lot of people jump to another system entirely because it's quicker to do so than waiting for super cruise.

Dude you have a fast and small ship, it's very hard to target it and impossible to catch for a python, all you had to do was boost 2 times and jump away.

To add to this, the Viper has very powerful lateral thrusters...little adjustments in various directions make you harder to hit.

You're all right, better luck next time to me.
I just hate it because I wasted two hours getting there and back today for nothing.

Viper is a lot faster and nimbler than the Python, in case of attack:

1 - Submit immediately so that FSD recharges in 10 seconds. Submitting also makes the drop to normal space much more graceful (no spinning), which means you can start to bolt immediately while the attacker is still spinning.
2 - 4 pips to engines (when you're on the faster ship, put 4 to engines, else 4 to shields) and start boosting away immediately. Use chaff if you have it.
3 - Do not fly in a straight line, you'll make life much easier for your attackers if you're a stationary target. Use the boost moment for sharper turns, use lateral/vertical thrusters. You'll be much harder to hit with fixed weapons. Keep chaffing.
4 - If you're mass locked, jump to another system instead of going back to supercruise. Mass lock only apllies if you're going back to supercruise. Anyway, the Viper is so much faster than the Python you'll probably be out of mass lock quickly, if you start to run as soon as you drop to normal space.

You'll meet with no more mercy from NPCs in solo these days ; I was shifting into a calm peaceful mindset to mine for some phosperus at an ice ring with no supercruise exit gates with nothing in my cargo, no bounties ..nota..and 2 gank me just becuase im there...fine and dandy they will add to my multicanon Engineer bounty offering when the time comes but i suppose if these 2 elite speed demons were CMDRs this would be thought of as griefing. Taking these out very much took some doing after which i had to return for repairs.

A python cant catch you! All you had to do is submit to the interdiction, than jump out! By submitting you dont get the FSD colldown and your sip is soooooo much faster than a lame Python!
