Need two more firing buttons

I understand that there are so many button on a joystick. However two firing buttons only, sucks. I would request that in the next update please give us at least four buttons at least :cool:. When it comes to the scanner its a pain as a triggered hard point :(. That's ok however to switch between four different weapons types is too hard in combat :mad:. Please give us more firing buttons [heart].

Practice practice and more practice. Best idea is use two buttons for switching fire groups Forward and backwards so switching weapons is not a issue. Also when you are getting ready for combat. Also disable any non combat fire groups. Like Discovery scanner and such. Maybe learn to put more in a fire group so you don't deal with much switching groups.
 
Tip: you can choose another spare button to get even more FIRE GROUPS. (sarchasm)
Why should only Joysticks have more weapons available at any one time over any other controller?
I already feel for Gamepad users but hey it gets them onboard.

We don't need more firing buttons, we need scanners (except the discovery ones) to NOT need buttons.

2 fire groups are good enough for weapons, if there weren't also these idiotic scanners which simply can't do their thing as soon as the target is within range and sight.

And while on that note, make discovery scanners NOT react in normal flight so it is possible to reuse weapon groups for them without honking constantly in combat which is silly and annoying.
 
Watch the last Frontier live stream; Frontier already recognise two fire buttons are limiting and 2 more weapon controls are coming. They will be bound to keys on the keyboard and used for the various ships scanners, of course most joysticks have provision for remapping buttons anyway.

All they needed was to add a Priority setting for Discovery Scanners and then this is solved to only power it in SC. If this was even not on a Hardpoint then we could honk around stations for safety. For KWS on some builds I liked to have the same button/fire group with Beams but is quite silly really as I'd need to try harder to keep them locked on that long.

Granted, being able to prio the ADS would help me personally, because I have not a single non-trading ship that does NOT need to shutdown atleast the fuelscoop when it goes combat ready : /

I'd prefer a more universal approach, like turning the damn things off in normal flight because who with a sane mind would drop from SC just to honk space for discovery?...

And all other scanners should simply work like the basic scan, fire automatically as soon as in range and sight, and for all I care can they still decay instead of just pause like the basic scan when out of range / sight.


As for the new buttons being added, yay... even more things I need to fit on my gamepad which already uses 4 modifier buttons...
The new camera mode already gives me a headache, but I'll take it because it finally gets rid of the idiotic short range limit for "zooming" out, aside of allowing actual zooming too.

Maybe I should by a second controller for that lol
