Needed Packs

The idear is simple.
What packs Do you think should come to 100% till the end of the games lifespan or the game will be incomplete with some gaping holes?

I would say the game would be in an alright final state if we would get a northamerican, europe, aviary and After that either an oceania or island pack.
Some holes this lineup would fix:
-lack of european animals (right now we have 6, with only 3 of them being somewhat typical for our general fauna)
-lack of Small animals (aviaries and islands/oceania would be almost exclusively Small animals and both NA and EU have some very common critters like racoons, skunks, foxes, badgers, martens etc)
-lack of cold climate herbivores (right now we have only 6 in the game and atleast another deer and a mountain goat are to expect. 8 arnt much but still a third more then 6)
-birds (selfexplanatory)
-marsupials (i feel like atleast 2 more would make the game feel more round, my preferd choices being the tasmanian devil and a tree kangaroo, but a Wallaby would also be great)
-reptiles (i only really See them via aligator or oceania/islands, but 1 or 2 more would be great)

But what Do you think?
What are the things that you feel like they need to be "fixed" to make the game feel complete?
I wish for a long long time of support, but if we get all of this, i feel like i would be disappointed but Not contend with an end of support, as then hopefully nothing major will be lacking in the game.

Regionally speaking, I would say top priority right now are Holarctic packs (Palearctic, Nearctic or both), followed by Oceania.

In addition to the lacking regions, we also need DLC's that expand on the way the game is played. In terms of packs concerning game mechanic improvements, I would love to see aviaries-netting/mesh followed by nocturnal houses with proper indoor lighting.

As for aquariums/fully-aquatic habitats, I don't think the game's lifecycle will be long enough to cover enough ground, so it is probably best we get an additional game for this vast category, that is ideally compatible with Planet Zoo.

1. Europe dlc (lynx, Ibex, red deer, red fox...I feel like people from Europe really really want a european dlc, this dlc could be a smaller 4+1 animal pack + exhibit

2. North America dlc (this is a must and basically has to be an animal pack of 8 species, like the Southeast Asia dlc)

3. Aviary dlc (birds are really highly requested species, I also want flying foxes)

4. Oceania (not just focused on Australian dlc)

5. South America 2 (to fill the missing species)

6. Temperate Asia (northern asia and mountainous species are lacking from PZ)

7. Africa 2 (Fossa, Leopard, Red River Hogs, Nile Crocodile, Kudu, Oryx)....even though Africa is pretty well represented there are still some highly requested African species

8. Aquarium dlc (to add fish and perhaps sharks, and aquarium exhibits for fish...no whales though)

What could be in temperate asia that wouldn't be in a europe/NA pack?

Lemme see here:
All animal packs (I, personally, am finished with themes)
  1. NA animal pack - to boost the NA roster
  2. Endangered species animal pack - van feature endangered and critically endangered species from all over the world (that way it's not so localized in a particular area)
  3. Aviary - honestly not a bug must for me, but if we get them I'd use them, totally. And I love birds, so yeah. It should come with a free update so that future packs can feature birds
  4. Oceania animal pack - no argument here. Raising the total from 5 to 13 would be awesome
  5. SA animal pack - we already have 8 or 9, raising up to 16 would be spectacular

Far and away for me, a North American pack is the most needed. Hoping it would be animal pack, or even content to wait for half if we got two 4+1+ building model packs for it, one for land and one for more partially aquatic animals. So that's my biggest need(s). That could either count for 1 or 2 packs depending on how you look at it.

After that, a European 4+1+building pack. There's two animals that seem to have a large majority consensus of being in the pack, and I think they could round out the other two fairly well as well. I think this and the NA pack(s) are absolutely the "must haves" in the game.

Tying in to the next needed are actually two packs I'd rather see personally than Europe, but I still think it's overall needed than these next two. An Avian pack which at minimum needs to be 8 animals. Minimum. If they go this route, there's so many birds out there that even that really wouldn't cover all the iconic species, and they would also require some new building sets. I think most of us would be fine with a 50% increase in price on this pack, or even double the price, if they put in the respective amount of species - 12 to 16 species of birds.

The other pack in this tier is more of a round up of absent animals from across the world. I've stuck to my theme of making this pack a Forest and Jungles pack. Taking 2 each from Africa, Asia, Australia and South America. If the NA set gave us a NA otter, I'd be fine without the Asian otter, but otherwise it's one I think would be in here, as I do think we'll get a second otter species eventually. And of course, the overwhelmingly requested animal left right now, the capybara, would be the biggest selling point to this pack. I don't know if I'd consider this pack a must have, but certainly at least that star animal should find its way into the game, no question about it.

The final pack I'd really like to see for sure is a desert pack, as mentioned many have noted that there are very few desert animals. I don't know if I'd put it at 100% wanted.

There's other ideas I'd like to see but this would give us another 5-6 packs and if it's just 5, a last pack would take us through the end of 2022. But, to be fair to the theme of the thread, really only Europe, North America and something with that Capybara are the "must" haves. If they opted to not go the Avian route, and gave us a capybara as a free 2nd anniversary gift (unlikely but it's got to make it in somehow), and just gave us the European and North America packs, I could at least be satisfied they covered all their bases for terrestrial (non-avian and non-fully marine) animals.

For me it's got to be Endangered Species, a "booster pack" covering the first four DLC (Arctic, South America, Australia, Aquatic), and Birds.

I can take or leave North America and Europe - to me they are a 'want' rather than a 'need'.

Assuming the California sea lion is added in the North America pack, I so want a Coastal animals pack at some point. Imagine how cool this would be:

  • Southern sea otter
  • West Indian manatee
  • Coconut crab
  • Cozumel island coati or Crab-eating raccoon (assuming one is added in NA pack, just add the one that wasn't here)
  • Any pelican species as a habitat animal
  • Sea turtle species
  • Flightless cormorant species
  • Some time of small turtle as an exhibit animal
Add in a bunch of mangrove/esturary and pure saltwater plants like giant kelp and seagrass...chef's kiss. I'd happily pay for this any day that ends in y.

I thought I read 30 slots left in game somewhere on here earlier which translates to about 6 more dlcs. Of course I take this with a grain of salt but if right it actually would seem about right and would be a well rounded number. If they don’t revisit Australia it wouldn’t really break my heart. South/Central America could use a few more honestly. I would say a aves pack could be possible unless they slowly merge birds into regular packs but I think it will be it’s own showcasing the new animations like the aquatic pack. A NA pack is surely in the works. Possibly a European pack as well as some form of desert or Arabian pack. I’d also say a critically endangered pack is on the way. After this it’s anyone’s guess maybe a primate pack showcasing brachiation possibly. I still believe the modern animal statue animals get filled being the black rhino, dromedary camel, red deer, and American alligator (sign) which would be very presentable for the NA,European,Arabian, and CE packs.

Well just hypothetically speaking let’s say we got a CE ,NA, European, and Arabian type dlc(not saying it’s definite by no means) but let’s just use in game sign references as a link or hint to these packs. Remember just hypothetical nothing set in stone. Now people may not be to keen on another rhino, camel, red deer, or even alligator it still opens up the gates to get some really amazing animals for sure. The Arabian type dlc could feature a leopard, Hamadryas baboon, addax and many more great animals. The critically endangered: the Amur leopard becomes a real possibility along with countless other requests. Still some great animal representations for each pack.

Oh sure. In saying that, I could easily come up with another fifty DLC packs that all feature different species and subspecies, and if you add birds into the mix, I could bump that up to sixty or seventy. Realistically this would be a financially poor move, because the core player base would only be in the hundreds, maybe less, who would keep buying all those packs every time one is released, but ultimately it shows that there's absolutely no end to how much potential content could be added to the game.

That's actually pretty close to what I was thinking, without adding in avian birds. Thoughts for that, North America at 2 4+1 packs - 10 animals, Europe - 4 animals BUT more building pieces for 2 themes, Jungle/Forest - 8 animals, Desert, 6 animals, less building pieces. - that's....28 animals. Of course, that info could be wrong and certainly my numbers are just from me, but if that number slot is true I can definitely see it being done that way, just reshuffle the numbers I have a bit, or as you said, 6 packs of 5 animals each.

I could really see the potential of a Small Mammals Pack. (With the word small being a bit on the edge maybe)
A potential lineup for this could be:

1. Asian Small-Clawed Otter - An animal many people missed in the SEA pack
2. Black-Tailed Prairie Dog - We need rodents and North American species
3. Sand Cat (or another small feline) - Cats are rarely seen as a bad inclusion
4. Tasmanian Devil - An animal many people missed in the AU pack and we are still very low on marsupials
5. Rock Hyrax - Very Unique
6. Patagonian Mara - Another Rodent and adds to South America
7. White-faced Saki - We need monkeys! - and adds to South America

8. (Exhibit) - I will not dive too deep into this, since exhibit mammals already seems a bit unlikely, but perhaps Frontier will change their mind about this.
Alternatively some building pieces perhaps?

Other potential choices for this pack could be: Platypus, Arctic Fox, Fossa.... mongooses, procyonids, rodents, small primates, lagomorphs and more.
In case it comes after flight animations (hopefully) make it into the game even bats could be an option.

To me small mammals are more or less as important for a zoo game as flying birds are. The Africa pack showed us we can go small, and a pack like this could really give a good boost to the game in this area.
