Negative payout on Mission?

Mission asks for 1,917 Palladium, which would cost about 97 million but the Reward is only 50 million????

It's a wing mission. It doesn't make sense solo, but it does in a team, as the cost of the Palladium is split across each player in the wing, but each get the same 50 million reward.
If you shared it with another player that contributed equally, it would turn into a profit of 1.5 million. The profit per player goes up with the number of players in the wing.

Aha, I did not know they EACH get the same reward, I guess than it does pay out. Tx. --- DK

There's two issues here.

1. Wing mission rewards are pre- split to incentivise doing them in a team. So if you do this solo, total prize pool is 50m. If you do it with 3 other mates, total prize pool is 200m... that's what pre-split means

This breaks supply wing missions done solo, since cost is a factor in the reward, and that factor will get quartered for an individual reward.

2. 50m is the maximum reward possible for a mission, higher breaks the mission board for unknown reasons.

I don't believe this is intentional. The majority of wing supply missions can be done solo for a good profit. It's just that the 50M cap wasn't accounted for here - the reward is automatically generated based on the cost and amount of the commodity, and this is a lot of an expensive one.

But not as much profit as you're meant to get, and there are cases where the reward is under the 50m cap, and still won't cover costs.

In general, there's a space between things ~0 - ~10,000 cr where you'll still make a profit because a majority of the reward sits with the actual reward rather than compensation for costs, but somewhere above that (most commodities jump from 10kish to 40k) is where their profit dries up. Even if the 50m cap weren't there, they'd still run a loss.

1. SO these 50 mill missions actually still do exist. Must be rare. I have friends in high places with maxed status in boom systems (well when they are boom) and expansion. Hadn't seen a thing over 5 mill.

2. Yea, since the missions are artificially capped at 50mil, the calculation of how much to pay in relation to acquisition cost is messed up. Well it work sup to a point then max() gets involved.
