For me, as I'm not aligned to either side, it was the presence of a Federal capital ship which made my mind up to fight on the Federal side. Self-preservation and all that!

Imperial Capital Ships are easier to take down than Federal Capital Ships. Federal Capital Ships seems more angry somehow
