Hi guys, check out my Nemesis recreation created using Alpha 2. Took me close to 48 hours to complete. Overall I'm very pleased with the results, hopefully you guys will be too?
I must apologize about the ❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎ frame rate, I am using a MBP / Bootcamp / Windows 10, it's top of the range but as you can see the frame rate is still poor. After filming all the clips I realized that I'd only allocated 7 cars instead of 8... oops!
Alpha 2 is a huge step up in terms of usability and I like where the game is heading. The coaster editor and landscaping tools in particular are bang on. However there are a few things which still need addressing:
- Creating inversions by hand is... awkward. Whilst you can get the general shape, the result is really jerky - even using the smooth tool.
- The lighting is a bit of a ball ache to deal with. It's difficult to see in the nooks and crannies, and I found that the moving light source was just irritating at times. I'd really like the ability to switch that off.
Overall though I am surprised at how creative you can be with such a limited number of items. Really that is a testament to Frontier who - in my opinion - are doing a fantastic job with this game, and interacting with the community. Top marks all round!
Some screen shots I took with all the settings turned up:
