Neofabric Insulation - I have a 12T surplus to give away

I have 12T of Neofabric Insulation to give away to one Commander.

I gathered my NI's yesterday at the Banner Class cargo ship in Maia and since I had some extra limpets I decided to go ahead and get 12 extra to help someone else out. I am currently at Eggleton Station in the Bulgarlmadi system in Empire space but am willing to travel some to meet up.

I will arrive at any meeting in a Cobra MkIII so I will be of little threat.

I will be back online around 11pm-ish GMT tonite for a couple of hours and then again tomorrow beginning sometime around 12pm noon time GMT for a good part of the day/afternoon/evening barring real life.

Is anyone interested or should I just pitch them over the side and move on? First PM gets first dibs. A no show sends me to the next PM in line.

Gotta go do some farm chores. I'll be back in a bit.

Good Morning, did you actually pick up the Neofabric at site mentioned above? I have been searching for a week

Yes I got them from the Banner Class cargo ship in Maia as stated two days ago. Maybe 3.0.4 put them back on mission rewards.

But I still have them if anyone is interested. My offer is good until 12:00pm/midnight GMT tonite. 3/27/2018 (or 27/3/2018 for folks across the pond).

This Banner Class cargo ship in Maia, is it easy to find? Only I'm out that way, but I think its quite a big system. :)

The ship I hit was like just a few light seconds from Obsidian Orbital in Maia. The FSD didn't even really get a chance to get fully spooled up before you had to slow down for exit when traveling between the two points.

IIRC, that is. :D Super close though.

Thanks very much for the info. Sorry, I've not done this before - do I need hatch breaking limpets to get at the cargo, and does all hell break loose once I initiate them?

I'm just after Neofabric Insulation.

First off, I need to correct myself as to the location of the ship I pillaged. It was in Pleiades Sector IR-W d1-55 near the Oracle. I was all over the place in the Pleiades area that day and I must have confused one "O" station with another. My apologies for that to all here.

Second, here is the thread where I got my information from for getting NI's. https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/417977-No-Neofabric-Insulation-anywhere

Thanks to Factabulous for the intel on this. Post number 6 in that thread has the meat and bones of it but I will quote him and add just a touch of pertinent info to the quote for clarity. My additional info is in italics.

bring manifest scanner, hatchbreaker limpets, collector limpets.

Find a wrecked megaship - the two in Pleiades Sector IR-W d1-55 near the Oracle (Banner and Hercules class) have lots of cargo holds, though you will probably have to relog.

Datalink scan ship, then Manifest scan cargo holds until you find the one you want. Datalink Scan the cargo hatch, target the Limpet Docking Point subtarget, fire a hatchbreaker limpet at it, and then use collector limpets or scoop the tasty loot.

A smaller ship might do better at scooping the loot since some of the canisters will hug the ship. I had a Cutter on hand in the area so that's what I used and did the job with collector limpets though many died on impact with the ship trying to get the huggers. Sometimes the limpet would nudge the canister into free space, but mostly not. The NI's that get clear of the ship are easy pickings.

Edit. No NPC's or cops or anybody bothered me while I was doing my thing although during a few instances a Thargoid ship came by and was solely interested in the cargo ship, not me. I just backed off, watched the Thargoid do its thing and then moved back in to the job at hand.

Happy hunting!

If you've never used the hatch breaker limpets it's a little clumsy.
You have to data scan the ship and then data and manifest scan(don't forget to bring that) each cargo hatch, then use the sub-target menu to actually select a hatch to break open with a limpet.
Only then can you get the cargo.

Since the ship is a wreck it's not illegal.

Bob, Brondog (Fantabulous) thanks ever so much for your help. There's a third derelict ship in the system around the main star area. Gordon class, I think.

By the way, sure enough, while I was there, a Thargoid ship turned up, and started sniffing around my Cutter. I just backed off, and as above, he let me be. The thing is just before he jumped out, I heard this female voice whisper something. I coulld not quite catch what she said, but can anyone confirm/deny/ridicule this? I'm serious, this really happened.

It might just be me losing it, or an unexpected fantasy about Jet from the Gladiators, but I'd really like to know what it was, if anyone has any idea.

Ya know, come to think of it I do recall hearing something like what you describe but I just wrote it off as Verity saying something. Her voice is really quiet at times, like when she tells me that my docking request is granted at an outpost. I now actually read the comms string on that instead of listening because I have been burned by taking for granted that she said "granted" when I was actually "denied".

I often play at lower volumes with "night effect" on so that i can hear other important RL things in the background while still getting most of the nuance of the game.

I found myself in the same situation and as the Thargoid prepared to jump, Verity said something about Anomalous FSD reading, so I'm sure that's all it was.

Sorry, thought I might have been on to something there. :)
