I know the whole balancing thing is very much contested, but I was wondering about the following: the Hauler is the dedicated entry-level ship, whereas the Adder is supposedly the entry-level explorer but is currently more of a multi-role ship with better trade capabilities than the Hauler yet with worse jump range. I know these ships are usually not considered to be of too much importance and the changes I propose would probably be of zero importance to most here. But what would you all think of the following adjustments:

Adder
+10% jump range. Stock jump range = 9.12->10.0
One C3 internal slot changed to one C1. max cargo= 26->20

Hauler
-5% jump range. Stock jump range = 9.87->9.38
One C1 internal slot changed to one C2. Max cargo = (22->24)

Seriously, whatever man

FD has so much stuff to do, fix non existant mining, fix bounty hunting, balance income, introduce new ships, introduce new comms systems, wings

who gives a damn about this garbage?

Haven't flown a Hauler since beta or an Adder since…never, so I'll take your word for the stats, in which case the internal compartment tweak looks like a sensible change to make the Hauler more suited to hauling. Not sure the minor jump range adjustments serve a purpose.

Oh, don't get me wrong: these suggestions are so far down my list of priorities there probably isn't enough paper in the world to get it on there. :D It is just that I am curious if many people are really opposed to ' nerfs' in general, of if they are okay with minor changes to small ships like this.

Steve50: that is just a nod to the languages used in these disucssions on many MMO boards. :)

The Adder is over twice the mass of the Hauler, and nearly twice its price. Thus it is not surprising that it is slightly superior to the Hauler in many ways.

Having flown both ships as my "Jeep and a Tent" explorer ship, I quite like that I have to choose between a slow and fragile ship with a slightly better jump range, and a faster and sturdier ship with a slightly worse jump range. I prefer meaningful choices, as opposed to "Always take an Adder exploring, its simply better than the hauler at its job."

I'd rather wait till we have a much larger pool of ships before any of this kind of tenth-pass tweaking even gets considered. The whole nerf/buff cycle is tiresome when the main stable isn't even filled out yet.
