General / Off-Topic Netflix Cancels House of Cards

That was indeed a really big disappointment to see one of the really great ones getting caught up in this. I guess it was inevitable, the vents really seems to have gone off everywhere this time around.
Anyhoo, I'm not sorry for Netflix. I cancelled my subscription with them this summer when I got tired of seeing them spending all the monies on crappy straight to video movie productions with A list actors getting big pay checks without bothering to show any interest in acting.

Maybe they should play the original U.K. version. Mind you that is about 'manipulation' within Westminster, so maybe not good right now.
H.W. and Spacey are the start of a long line of accusations; just like when the BBC thing kicked off and remember, many of the 'accusations' turned out to be false. I see that McGowan is already gaining publicity by sticking the knife in.

That'll teach him.
And the rest of the cast. And the director(s). And the writers. And the crew. And the fans of the show.
I hope they all learn their lessons.

checking out his profile and found this quote from him:

"I find it sad that by not talking about who I sleep with, that makes me mysterious. There was a time when I would have been called a gentleman."

Is this what they call irony?

Only accusation no proof or whatsoever. What we see in there is witch hunt.

And the media the press, alongside with the society, and politics are so "scared" so brainwashed, they are jumping for the first shadow, without thinking proof or reason.
And so as the web's trollish lynch mob. It's highly time to do something with this, and not with the so called "problem" what's nothing more just a big fat overly inflated balloon.

Besides? there is a single word to this phenomenon.

(Media)hysteria.

It's better to cool down, before & instead to act too harshly and prematurely. Not a good idea to listen the fired up crowd, when it's demanding someone's head in silver platter, or condemning them / him to death.

Not that I want to defend him, but is it really fair to hold a thing someone said drunk, 30 years ago, against them? :/

He didn't just said something when drunk. He brought a kid to his house and tried to [censor] him. When confronted with it he pretty much accepted it happened with the lamest excuse ever ("Yeah, there was a kid in my bedroom, not sure if I tried to [censor] him but I was kinda drunk so hey, stuff happens, sorry man.") and tried to deflect by coming out as gay.

"Never mind the attempted child-[censor], lets talk about how I bravely came out of the closet!"

Bunghole.

That'll teach him.

He should be 'taught a lesson', he should be punished and cast out of society on general principle. The show can continue without him, but it doesnt really work in this case. My condolences to the fans if child abuse inconveniences them. In this case though the series was supposed to end after this season anyway, so its not even related. If they had any guts they'd kick him out now.

Not sure about you, but when someone asks me if I ever tried to [censor] a kid in my bedroom I wouldnt answer with 'dont really know, could be, I was kinda drunk'.

Anthony Rapp who said Spacey had made a sexual advance to him in 1986, when Rapp was 14 years old.

Well, if true, and we don't know that, he likes young boys! :O

Hollywood, no comments.

Well then how would you answer if someone asked if you censored children in your bedroom?

Is that a serious question? I would say:"No, I did not. Why are you asking me such a strange question?". I would not say "Meh, could be, cant remember." I also wouldnt say "Yeah, I have kids I barely know unsupervised at my parties for adults and let them wait for me in my bedroom by themselves where I may or may not have [censor] them."

Is that strange of me? Are we really gonna defend this?
