Dear All those that are familiar with these phrases in this order.. FS,FSC,FSD,FSDC,4,3,2,1,E... If you get that then you might have some valid opinion on this...
So you can super charge your FSD... for a plus 300% pretty neat you would think. To the novice explorer that looks like some big numbers. You kit your ASP to a 30+ Ly jump capacity then by routing through some neutron stars to pop a jump that is huge!! you would think... Alas it does not seem to assist you at all. Ok, so you jump 4 times your normal range. You Supercharge your drive, get your charts out, mess around looking for the next neutron star, plot your route, engage and off you go...
Well my issue is that it actually takes longer than normal flight, example, you plotted your course, 150 of Ly of route. You filtered out the chaff stars that won't let you top up the tank and off you go. From Frame Shift Charging, jumping to the next star, filling up that bit of gas you used, circumnavigating the star, off at your tangent, waiting for the temp to drop and scoops disengage... HIT Frame Shift Charging... 55 seconds to 1 Minute 5 depending on the angle of the next jump. At that takes less time than, safely FSD Supercharging, sorting your route and getting there.
To make the FSD Supercharging an assist to long distance space flight those developer GODS need to think about the benefit and make it worth the hassle of going off course left a bit, right a bit, up a dozen Lys, ETC ETC to follow a neutron route... At least 1500% so a 30Ly ship can jump nearly 500Ly in a single bound (450 Ly for those math heads).
Just a thought, I only use the neutron jumps to break up the monotony of regular jumps.
Responses most welcome, even will welcome the TROLLing.
