Never fly without rebuy...

So my friend just got the game some weeks ago.
I helped him grind some money so he could get a ship or two for different mission types.
Yesterday he went and bought the Beluga to try passenger missions.
He was screen sharing on Discord and I noticed he didn't have money for rebuy after his purchase. I told him that the number one rule in this game is to never fly without rebuy.
But he had already picked up some passengers and decided to fly anyway. Before I had a chance to react he launched his ship and found out he didn't have a docking computer.
When he got to the mission destination and tried to manually dock on the station, he got stuck in the entrance and his ship blew up.

He then rage quit and will probably not play again for some time.
I wanted to yell "I f****** told you so" but decided to come here and warn any new players to: NEVER FLY WITHOUT REBUY !

I know right ! I was laughing my *** off when he got stuck cause I knew what was gona happen 10 seconds later.
He's stubborn and wants to figure stuff out himself. Bad game for that kind of mentality >< He learned the hard way.

Heh, that's me. I'd reinvent the wheel by sketching out my ideas on the backside of the instructions for how to make a wheel.

No, pretty much stock.
I do respect poeple who play their games this way. I do that myself with some games. But if the end result is him rage quitting and not commin' back, that's kinda sad.

It is your fault. This should have happend in a cobra or hauler; with minimal impact to the player and granting the subject a valuable lesson.

Nothing wrong with this mentality. It's just that it should also apply to landing one's ship.

I'm confused - last time I flew without enough to rebuy and died I'm sure I could still repurchase my ship and it just took a percent of what I made until the debt was paid off?

Well I shared over 100 m worth of wing quests with him. Not gonna be bothered to do it again if he rage quits every time something goes wrong.

While I agree with you, the crime and punishment system in this game is a joke and punishes innocent mistakes that your friend made MORE than mass fricking murderers. While I don't usually watch him, this video sums it up perfectly.

i did also fly without rebuy when i bought my t7 from my low budget back then. all d+e graded, not enough money left for full cargo....

after the first tour all was well. nothing happend (docking computer werent a thing there).

so, flying without rebuy is a risk that one can take, see no fault in that.

flying without docking computer without knowing to dock.... there i can find fault.

Trust me. He died in the small ship plenty of times. It's like he's cursed. If there's a small chance of failure, it will happen to him.

He did manage to do a few manual docks in the start of the game. But never tried it with a big space bus.
