Never seen this station before!

I might be very slow on this and if so im sorry.

But I came across this station today, ive never seen a coriolis with these extensions before. Any idea what they might be for and if they will be of any practical ingame use later on?
The gravity out in those extensions should be close to 1g (if my mind serves me right, ive read or heard that the coriolis itself has between 0.2-0.4g).

the devs have stated that some stations in settled systems can get bigger over time ( and unsettled systems) can get basic construction outposts as civilisations and colonies expand and theyll grow over a month or two depending on trade support etc

Those are noob-tenderisers. Makes them more delicious once extracted from the remains of their can.
Hah, yes, one of my most hopeless times so far in ED came with those yesterday. I'd fled an Elite Anaconda (he was down to 6% power plant but shields back up, and I wouldn't have taken another hit), flew back to the station, and got myself hammered to death by those. Very cringeworthy, almost as bad as failing to take out an unshielded NPC Sidewinder before it escaped - with two other real people nearby who must've been shaking their heads at my utter hopelessness.

They've been in since beta 2. Back then you couldn't reliably control which side of the station you came in at so arriving close to being thumped by one of the arms was a real danager.

They may (eventually) be somewhere where you can refuel without docking, or where a capital ship can dock to take on supplies.

Okay tnx fir settling this :)
I havent played much lately but thought i played quite a bit during beta and still never saw them.

Any ideas what those arms might be there for?

Ninja!

Right, fair enough, but its an unpractical position for any form of docking though

Back in Beta 2 I had my Type 9 introduced to one of those hammers. The results were predictable. I wish someone else had been there to take a video.

That's interesting because I somewhen got the impression that my "home" outpost with a faction I try to push has grown. But I put it off as illusion because I can't remember how big it was at start when I frist meet it and I have seen 0 influnce changes int he factions although I tried to make a difference for a week already.

Couple times almost warped into one of those maulers from SC.

I can see it every day here on forums, as someone creates new thread saying "wth is this station" or "lolz coroliz with armz" or "never seen this station before" :)

I've just found outpost with at least 5 docking bays and it seems it has one big one. Screenshots later, but this is second outpost today that looks great, one was in some communism system, was looking like giant harvester and was yellow.
