There we were mining Platinium, Palladium, Ossium, Painite and Gold. Cargo bay just about full of the good stuff and preparing to finalize our mining run, when I am called to a Long range Communique from a fellow Miner in trouble with some pirates (/RP off Had to afk and help the wife. /RP on) My XO takes the helm, then all I hear is Shield depleted and the sound of grating metal against an asteroid.
Running back to the bridge all I see is a huge asteroid staring us down as our ship (Mine-A-Conda) is boosting into it at full speed, I look at my XO and she gives me a smirk and hit he eject handle on her station and is outer here, leaving me to try and recover the ship or follow her footsteps. A quick second and I realize that its futile and hit the eject button as well to join my XO in the cold void awaiting rescue, as my 300 million credit mining ship is obliterated on the asteroid.
Quite some time later deep space salvage and rescue pick us up and return us to Charlois Station at HIP 21991, and I inquire about my insurance on my ship, thankfully I had the payments up to date. Within a few days I have my ship back all shiny and new, but I am now looking for a new XO, I feel the loss of the cargo is enough severance pay for Jasmine Mc'Ginty.
So its back to the void, Solo mining til I can find another partner that I can trust to fly the ship and not use it as a battering ram.
