I've recently acquired a fully loaded Asp and (finally) set off on some of the exploration runs that I have had planned. Soon, my character will be thousands of LY away, and in realistic terms, completely cut off from the rest of inhabited space - I keep getting this nagging message "what if something exciting and decidedly 'red' happens around The Wedding?" or "what if Alioth suddenly starts spawning Platinum rich RSE's as a gift to all those loyal to the Alliance?".
True, I could ditch the Asp into the nearest sun to instantly teleport me back should something exciting happen, but that seems a little... severe. Plus, it'll run me for about 900k in insurance costs, not to mention the loss of all collected system data.
What I would prefer to do it buy another account and use that as my Bounty Hunting/Trading/General account, and leave my backer account in the far flung reaches of the Galaxy. I could do that almost immediately and have a character set up in minutes - the problem is that I won't get the perks that have been applied to my existing early backer account.
So - in the absence of Multiple CMDR slots, I would like to purchase a new account now and subsequently apply my original account perks to it. Obviously, I'd like to merge the accounts when the time for multiple CMDR slots arrive, but I'm more than happy to take the hit for the cost of a new account now.
If it furthers development, it's win/win deal as far as I am concerned.
If I'd have known that I'd want this prior to the end of Gamma, I'd have definitely sprung for another Merc edition at the very least.
Would other backers/pre order CMDR's be interested in the same sort of deal?
