There's been a few complaints around the plethora of current CG's. It seems some folks are a little fed up of hauling X across space. Personally, I can't think why as this is pretty much been the entire basis of the game since forever and let's face it the CG crowd do this sort of thing spectacularly well.
However I can sympathize with their frustrations because I'm a crook and there isn't much for us to do except steal a handful of commodities. Diamonds are my favourite but there are others. Rares are good. Slaves obvs. All of these can be stolen with a similar load out and skill level.
And then there is Hafnium 178.
Most of you have probably never heard of it. I doubt many of you that do will have seen it. Of those who have seen it there will be fewer who have tried to steal it.
Fewer still will have succeeded.
Hafnium 178 is an essential ingredient in very large bombs. Goid killers.
It can be found in threat level 3 USS convoys. Usually in a wing of combat ships supporting a T9. Each of these armoured flotillas carry no more than 2 tons. Sometimes you get two flotillas in one USS.
Pirating it can be done solo. It's easier in a wing however.
It's a perfect Piracy CG. Wing up. Take down the man. Haul 2 tons at a time. Earn nothing but rebuys, massive ordinance and much fun.
Come on frontier, break the mould. It's time for Pirates to save the day.
Or we could just ship X from here to their again.
