New Alpha build 3.01.r22277/r0 MP fixes

Just noticed that there was an upgrade reported when I open the ED Launcher. This is Alpha 3.01.r22277/r0 and it gets me passed the being stuck at the spinning ship part of the previous build.

However, I have crashed out three times after roughly 1-2 minutes, usually as I approach the space station and having requested access.

Anybody else getting this, or is it just me!?

Yes, everyone is getting this. ;)

Hello Commanders!

We have an improved build under internal testing at the moment that looks promising with regards to the loading stall.

Standby for deployment...

I haven't tried the update;but as I'm at work I've been reading the forums:D
The general consensus is that the game loads up more reliably now but that there are still a number of stability issues - some new, some old.
On the whole though it's definitely an improvement over 3.0!

I had a really nice 90 minute session this evening... it helps that it was 00:30--2:00 GMT, so a lot of alphas were tucked up in bed :p! I finally managed to do a bit of outfittinig; I have a gimballed burst laser and a gimballed multi-cannon, using lasers for shields and multicannon for hull (ok, both for hull really). I am still quite a way off from my cobra; I only have 20 kills or so, but I had to work for some of them, dodging fire from multiple ships which was fun.

3.1 is so much better than 3.0, but as noted there are still plenty of bugs! I think I've only used task manager to escape twice this evening!

I've filed several crash reports too, sounds like we can all give the devs something to work through!

It looks like it could be server load then, purely as some have more luck than others and off-peak (from the UK point of view) seems more stable.

Finally got to try it out tonight and had one crash due to a respawn (anacondas not too bothered by class 1 weapons it would seem!), and that was in 3 hours of play (3 till 6am gmt).

Quite a few commanders online too but probably no more than 4 at a time - no lag and no framerate issues. Couple of these were definitely from the US which was causing me a lot of lag in 3.0 (in the 3 connections I had out of a hundred tries:rolleyes:)
Pretty good experience all round with the exception of docking clearance shenanigans and Impeccable Defence weirdness!

Very promising in terms of the closeness of beta imo; though obviously not everyone is having the same experience so we shall have to see on that front!

But the overall experience is forming into a tangible whole.
Where the last 2 segments felt very disjointed, leading to much debate about balance that couldn't be judged and resolved due to context; alpha 3 builds them into something more complete with continuity and repercussion from session to session and area to area.
Discussion just lost a variable!
Obviously there's an awful lot more to discuss now too so I don't imagine resolution will come any easier:p

The future's bright, the future's not spinny and orange:D
