New and more varied module types outside of Crafting time sink

I would like to see corporations or manufacturers of products more prominently pulled into the modules, weapons and modifications of ships.

I don't have a huge amount of playtime, so crafting is of limited appeal to me for anything other than maybe one mod I might want for my ship. This could depend on how FD does it, but if I have to seek out one specific engineer that is 1,000 LY away... maybe not worth doing because of limited time for one thing.

I would rather FD did what they said they did not do because crafting was coming, and that is to make a larger variety of module quality, stats, etc. for outright purchase.

in addition, when players sell a modified module, will it vanish or could it be visible for purchase at a "shipyard".

Along with this I think FD needs to change best module to be higher number just like Size of module larger number is larger ship module. Having A as the best rating is rather dumb in my opinion as it caps the current A modules as the "best" and leaves no room for more subtle distinctions of material, craftsmanship, method of operation, reliability, cost, mtbf, etc. which should start at zero and go up. A module is like saying tech level starts at G and goes to A with A as the highest tech--- well what happens when better tech comes out as it does... FD has to re-order the whole system... just think it was not very forward thinking.

Module should have several ratings including tech level (affects materials, electronics, software), manufacturer reputation (quality, reliability, cost), etc. So we could buy a Saud Kruger FSD and it would have different characteristics to a Faulcon De Lacy... and some modules would not be compatible with all ships not just based on size, but possibly on manufacturer, etc.

Other companies like Manticore (which manufactures the C2 Cannon) could be brought into the fore as well.
Perhaps something a little like Borderlands where different manufactures have different strengths and weaknesses (though not necessarily procedurally generated).

I really like your ideas, and have been thinking along the same lines myself, Something like an A-,A,A+ system for example....
I like the tweaking of modules and weight etc in order to improve performance, but to me it's too one dimensional at the moment....
I've no idea how easy/difficult this would be to implement within the code of the game....
No one knows how 2.1 is to be structured, but could engineers be aligned to certain manufacturers????
A second-hand market? Cheaper, less reliable.... The odd chance of a gem of an FSD or something, maybe?...
Personally, I don't mind jumping through a few hoops to get improvements to a ship or module, if that's whats required.
