New animal/theme ideas

Hey everyone,
I'm Christian den Hartog a Dutch storywriter and aspiring marine biologist. I've been recently playing planet zoo and I love it a lot~ I love it when I can express my creativity, show my art and admire beautiful animals. I also like creating 3D environments and creating/developing games or mods. Planet Zoo basically allows me to do this all in one game! Anyways while building my zoo's in sandbox mode I got some great ideas and things I missed inside the game.

As a disclaimer some of these animals might already been suggested or even in game but I'd proudly ask for them again ^^.
I will also be updating this with new animals.~

As an aspiring marine biologist I obviously start with:

Marine Animals/Theme ~:
Water light effect would be very cool to see in game. Some lights that will project this well known underwater light effect. You would be able to project them on the wall or on the floor.

Sea Lions.

Beluga (I do hate to see these in captivity but they are still beautiful and soooo smart).

Any kind of Batoids (sting ray, manta ray or small exhibit/aquarium batoids). I would also like some hanging manta ray statues oMG that would be sick.

Sea Turtles.

Bioluminescent organism exhibits/aquariums! (For example jellyfish)

Exhibit/Aquarium theme and animals.~
For example:
seahorses, octopoda, eels and crustaceans. Also any kind of fishes xd.

Coral decoration items not just exhibits.
Different kinds of exhibits/aquariums you can switch to light or dark.

Vaquita (the most endangered cetacean).
I wouldn't want these in captivity either but there's only about 10 left in the wild~

Sharks

Obviously I would love to see orcas, bottlenoses, beluga or any kind of dolphins but I personally don't think promoting them in captivity is a good thing..

Cute animal theme:
We all love cute animals and there are a lot of them around.

Baboons (call me psycho but I think they cute).

Meerkats (<33333333333 love themmmmm).

Llama (not alpaca).

Fennec foxes.

Margay.

Tarsius.

Pudu.

Slow Loris

That's about it for now. I have a lot more ideas also for buildings but I have to list them properly first.(y)

I agree with the overhyped part! Dull idk about that one they could have some very fun animations!
Look, I get why people like them, but for me Leopards are overhyped, too much on television, the dullest out of the big cats (they have little specialities) and all other big cats do it better.

Mountain Climber, snow loving, big tailed, beautiful white Snow Leopard does it better - Check
Very fast, very sleek, nimble, the cheetah does it better. - check
King of big cats, pride, manes, lion does it better - check
Lover of water, killer of crocs, beautiful colorations, also coming in black variants like Leopard, jaguar does it better. - Check
Small, sabretooth, jungle, climber, very beautiful paintings, Clouded Leopard does it better - Check
Famous, biggest, strongest, beautiful, Tiger does it better - Check.
Mountain Lions/Puma/Cougar are kinda on fence with the Leopard, but at least they have a more original and beautiful array of names. Leopard/Panther is so boring name.

Heck even medium and small felines such as Serval, Caracal, Lynx, Ocelot and Desert cat do it better.

For me the Leopard is just the most boring and overhyped big cat, all others do it better and are more needed, I think fronteer thinks the same, that's why the others are in the game, and not the Leopard.

TRUE I actually meant the Sea Lions could have some nice animations :). Idk about leopards they are also not my favourite animals nor do I want them in the game.
I do get why Sea Lions wouldn't be needed since they already have seals in the game. Nevertheless I still love Sea Lions.

I don't know why I hate Sea Lions in this game, I love them in the zoo, they are cute, funny and active, but I fear because of them they will not include the Leopard Seal, one of my favorite animals in the world.

Funny thing, my least favorite animals come together in the name of one of my favorites LEOPARD SEAL, how bizarre ;-)

I love sea lions. They are on top of my wishlist. I was kind of sad that we got seals instead of sea lions. I love how they are able to move around on their flippers.

Don't worry, Sea Lions and Leopard are on most normal people's wishlists, but I'm not normal, I like the obscure, and kinda dislike the stuff most people like, so overhyped and overused.

I agree with the Leopard Seal a lot because they are also very high in my favourites. They are so interesting and cool I should include them in the list!

I'm a mixture of both: I want popular, "iconic" zoo animals, but also strange species nobody has heard of. That's why I love it that Frontier adds a couple of popular animals (Jaguars, Penguins), but then adds something relatively unknown (Cassowary, Proboscis Monkey)

Indeed, its a nice mixture of both. They have to add iconic species, the majority of the players are casuals, so they might appriciate an elephant more than to say for example babirusa, which they might never heard of.

But this particular latest pack is full of weird, obscure and lesser known animals, its amazing.

The water effect already exists, but its not very prominent and only really comes to effect in shallow waters. But a new feature that comes with the next update will allow us to change water colours and "foggyness", so clearer bodies of water could increase the effect for greater depths. And there is a path style that came with the aquatic dlc that mimics the effect, but obviously static. But i also could find good use for such lamps in the game.

Now, I'm gonna be honest: I don't like Chimps. Yeah, they're famous, but they are horrible animals (personality). They kill monkeys and people. They are territorial. Notice that TV makes them the villains while the Gorilla (which I like) are wise beings

Yeah, but thats a very simplistic way to see it. Humans top anything some chimps have ever done by a great multitude. But that usually doesn`t mean you hate any human you come across on the street, just for the fact that humans did unspeakable things to humans and other animals. And gorillas killed humans, just as humans killed gorillas. And chimps can be very peaceful creatures, especially when it comes to their young: In one case, the dominant leader of a group even adopted an orphan for no other realistic reason then compassion.

Yes, but I also don't really like people as a whole. Just all the greed and general selfishness. I'm not saying there are exceptions, because I've heard of kind Chimps and Gorilla attacks, but as a general trait in the species, that's what I'm referring

Well, thats the problem. It's not a general trait. Other apes have personalities that are just as deep and diverse as the apes that are currently on this forum.
Some are peaceful, others more aggressive, and most, just as humans, range somewhere in between.

You are kind of doing the equivalent of a racist condemning whole groups of people because of the failures of some. It also has a name: Speciesism.

That really wasn't my intention, and I apologize if it bothered anybody here.

I think the issue is the negative always gets spotlighted while the good is stuck in the shadows, and I've mostly heard bad from Chimpanzees (and people, for that matter)

No, don't worry. I have to apologize if i sounded rude. I just wanted to tell you that we have to be careful with such thoughts. The same mechanism that already lead you to dislike chimps as a whole can easily jump over to humans and vice versa. And it usually doesn't end up well if too many people follow this path.

I think the issue is the negative always gets spotlighted while the good is stuck in the shadows, and I've mostly heard bad from Chimpanzees (and people, for that matter)

Absolutely. I've never seen flashing news about chimps (or people) just sitting there and doing nothing. And peaceful acts usually don't cause much attention, compared when things are running wild.

Edit: And now i have to apologize a few times more, because i just realized that i'm a stupid hypocrite: I (unfortunately) eat meat, and everytime i bite in a delicious, cheap roll with pork i ask myself how and why our society decided for some animals to be worth enough to be kept as family members for their lifetime while others are just worth enough to us to land on our dinner plates. See, thats why this stuff is almost impossible to eradicate from our minds, it can affect anyone and usually most never see it on themselves because no one likes to see themselves as the bad guys.
