New BGS Changes and Smuggling

So whats the story? Anyone know?

I'm not expecting any smuggling specific changes but the AI team often make unannounced changes so avoiding a scan might get a tweak.

In the live game I've noticed recently that police ships circling planetary bases can spawn much closer to your drop in point and start a scan almost immediately. Not that hard to avoid but harder than it's been for a while.

The effect of non-mission related actions like smuggling might become more apparent in the stats though, I'd like to be able to see more clearly what has what affect on who.

I assume that particular aspect will not change. Selling illegal goods on a black market reduces the influence of the controlling faction by the same degree as regular trading increases it. It is a highly effective way to reduce faction influence. Since the states are not necessarily based on or affected by influence (some are triggered by influence states), the fact that there will now be three states per faction probably doesn't change the effect of snuggling (or even smuggling! Stupid phone!) significantly, if at all.

I’ll do this one last time, so get out your pens, pencils, razor blades, or tattoo guns and put this on something you’ll never lose:

You can smuggle anything into a planetary installation with ease. Just do not land there. Land beyond the base, drive there in an SRV after dismissing your ship, and request boarding.
Your ship will land itself automatically, completely scan free.

And if, for some reason you need to smuggle yourself out, simply board your SRV from the pad, drive out beyond 2km and recall your ship.

Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.

I dunno man, seems like a lot of hassle when you can just break a scan by toggling SR (or dump a heatsink) A lot less faffing about ;-)

10 out of 10 for creativity tho

Is that fun? :/

Yikes, hang on, I need to go fetch my neckbeard from the closet so I can yell about exploits. BRB.

I wish they'd change it so Anarchy factions GAIN influence from it. Seems odd they'd lose influence for helping them push their trade.

That change already happened a while back. Sales are treated like normal commodity market trading if an Anarchy controls the market.

I got hauled out of SuperCruise by the pigs one time. Spat like seven heat sinks before mass lock broke.
Spat the last one to give them the finger.
Got scanned coming into station.

Rebuy.

Switch modules off, you are screwed anyway if you get scanned so it wouldn't hurt.

I thought you couldn't get 'in' to the station in an SRV, but you had to drive 'x' km out & re-call.
Where exactly do you drive to?

IIRC you don't recall your ship, you request boarding (instead of request docking). Not a feature I use much but play your own way etc.
