Since the canopy is a module now, can I present the latest innovation from Remlock Technologies:

The Active Field Canopy. This new canopy replaces the standard canopy installed by your ship manufacturer with state of the art force field projectors. Enjoy crystal clear views with no annoying lensflare, smudges and scratches. It's even self cleaning as all dirt is automatically repelled by the field charges. You no longer have to worry about your canopy blowing out into space* in a critical moment anymore!

*Loss of power to unit may result in Life Support activation.

1. The canopy would have to be powered and therefore draw power from the generator.
2. The canopy would need to be on the module target list.
3. Lose your canopy module in battle, it cannot be repaired in space so you still have until the life support runs out to get to a station for repairs.
